EWX Per Alledged Web Reports, Shut/Seized By US Gov.

John-Henry: It is the same for everyone, that is why it is pretyped.

I bet that was pretyped, too. In fact, eWalletXpress has probably fired all of its employees and created a few simple scripts with names like "John-Henry.php".

Wait 30 seconds after a user types something and randomly generate one of five or six pretyped responses.

Great way to curb expenses! My sympathies go out to anyone who has money tied up here.

Time to "Wrap it up"....

The writing is on the wall and if you google and go to DOJ and U.s. Treasury and Fed websites you will find virtually nothing about what is going on.

This is when you shoiuld worry because we know that things" are going on".

I am following this senario, last plays using bonuses, cashout as much as I can to quicktender and get the heck out of dodge!

Hello CM Members,

Okay so on a daily basis I go to EWX live help to see if there is anything new. As we all know, NO, they are still giving us the prewritten script that it is technical difficulties. Today I tried a different approach, I didn't ask if these technical difficulties were fixed. As you are reading the chat look at what John-Henery writes in his comments. Do you think he is agreeing with me on my first statement?( I have highlighted the text in red, and highlighted the response from John-Henry is blue.) A part of me does. Let me know what you guys think.

I think he is backing up the script, that's all. Too bad one of them doesn't slip up.

John Henry was a steel driving man who raced against a steam powered hammer and won, only to die in victory with his hammer in his hand. His hammer weighed 20 pounds and they say he weighed 33 pounds at birth.

Early in November, many players noticed that eWalletXpress was disappearing from many online gambling sites, and even ceased to be available through the cashier of many online gambling sites. When asked about the problem, eWalletXpress customer service informed consumers that they were experiencing “technical issues,” but the truth is turning to be explained by circumstances that are much more dire.

This week, management at a major online gambling informed SportsbookGurus that a federal warrant has been served to eWalletXpress. Like NETeller before it, eWalletXpress is likely to pull out of the American market immediately in order to prevent serious litigation, fines, seizures and damages.

Very few specific details have been released, but sources have been stating that funds are already being seized. The amount of money that has allegedly been seized or frozen has not yet been determined.

Account holders who have money in their eWalletXpress account can currently request to receive their funds through the e-mail address payouts@ewalletxpress.com. They are not sending out checks, but they will allegedly transfer funds back into checking accounts when the “technical issues are resolved.”

Many online gambling sites, particularly the larger ones such as Bodog and Intertops, have already been heavily affected. In the case where eWalletXpress was a primary deposit method, the loss is a heavy burden to bear. Fortunately, new deposit options are becoming more prevalent through many of the online casinos, such as WinPalace and Cherry Red, sportsbooks, and poker rooms.

Since the trouble began with eWalletXpress, several new deposit methods had been introduced to gambling sites that used eWalletXpress. MyPayLinQ and Digital-Pin are two examples of these.

UseMyWallet remains one of the few long running deposit options available to USA players. UseMyWallet is an invitation only service, but UseMyWallet sign up can easily be achieved through any reputable gambling site that accepts this method.

UseMyWallet is wise alternative to eWalletXpress due to the elevated security of this deposit method, as well as their similarities. UseMyWallet is widely available through all forms of gambling site, with an emphasis on sportsbooks and online casinos.

Assorted prepaid cards are also an option, including those that can be purchased online and in stores, ranging from Wal-Marts to convenience stores. Prepaid Card Casinos, sportsbooks, and poker sites are proving to be very valuable during this period of uncertainty.

Since the saga against deposit options continues in the United States, players are once again urged to write their senators and representatives requesting that the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, or the UIGEA, be over turned. The Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act, or HR 2267, is still working its way through Congress, spear-headed by Barney Frank, though it seems that the bill has fallen stagnant.

Having passed through the the House Financial Services Committee, HR 2267 was meant to be brought into the House of Representatives. Shortly after passing through the committee, the House went into the a period in which representatives handled case work. Elections further postponed the issue, and it is unlikely that HR 2267 will resurface before the year is through.

Any update on the EWX situation? Looks like someone in mainstream press would have reported this but I can find nothing... it's like nothing has happened.

Where did this report come from? Is this current or from November? Personally, I don't believe that the Gov't is involved because there have been no stories about this anywhere and the Gov't would not want to keep this quiet. Does anyone have any current information?

I have over 10k here :(

Im not buyin that story either.....Im lucky I dont use them....but I feel for those who have funds tied up. Something else is going on here....for sure.

Time for a review or reality update. This is what I know about EWE situation which obviously affects me.

1. EWE had some sort of problem around Nov. 12-15 with no transactions after the 15th. A message is posted at EWE stating system upgrading issues. There is dispute on transactions from casinos stating funds were sent to EWE but EWE didn't add it to accounts. These funds are now in limbo.

2. Some poker site person states funds were seized and that casinos received a email stating that exactly. A copy of the email is not presented for viewing.

3. Casinos remove EWE as an option to fund/withdraw.

4. EWE sticks to a general script stating system issues.

5. EWE goes through the normal process to request withdrawals but no one is receiving their requested money.

6. There is no government or any official notice that funds were seized.

7. No casino managers, customer service people, or reps will openly comment on what is going on.

8. It's over 1 month now and nothing new is disclosed.

If funds were seized, wouldn't there be something official by now? Am I wrong or missing anything?

My thought exactly.

Although this issue does not affect me directly, I'm beginning to worry on behalf of my American friends with money tied up with EWX.

I'd actually feel better is there was confirmation the funds were seized by the DOJ, because I would trust that eventually players would receive their money.

Even if it is true that the email stating funds were seized was sent out by EWX, that doesn't mean that that is a true fact.

I was told a rumour prior to November 15th that EWX was expected to do a runner with player money. I was told it was a rumour from a "reputable source". Perhaps a planned DOJ seizure was avoided by absconding with funds?

Surely there is some regulator or agency to file a complaint with? Interpol even?

Although I would hate to hear that grand scale theft occurred, at least people would know where they stood, instead of "technical issues".

am beginning to think that EWE skipped town with our money.if the govn't siezed our money we would of heard something by now.EWE is probably just stalling while they collect our money and run.cleaning there tracks so no one can catch them.I hope to god i am wrong cause i have $420 in EWE,but what else is left to think, who do we complain to?

I doubt Wikileaks has time to but they sure as heck might know something. I've been searching this morning for any new tidbit on EWX but so far haven't found much. Sure is strange.

I wonder what the employees are thinking. Either they are involved in some sort of scam with a potential payoff, know something else that is going on but still show up for work and stick to the script, or are completely stupid.

There have been no transactions for almost 1 1/2 months now. Can't believe anyone working there would think that's ok.

Every time I do a search, all I end up with is online gaming portal news thingys. All of which basically 'report' 3rd or 4th hand info -- 'he told me they said that he said' type thing. Thousands and thousands of dollars (and more) tied up for -- how long? 6 -8 weeks? and no one actually knows anything. Least of all the people who actually have money stuck in EWX.

It's just weird...

EWE mailing address is in toronto, ontario i wonder if we contact the local police if they could investigate to see what's going on at there address.am a little scared to do it cause i live in a banned state, nevada( funny i can go to local market, gas station and play slot machines ,but am not allowed to gamble on line LOL).anyone else willing to do it?address is:
EWE -
157 Adelaide street west
suit 418
Toronto,Ontario
Canada, msH 4E7

am going to do a search and maybe i can file a complaint online.let you guys know.maybe everyone who has money tied up in EWE should also file a complaint maybe with all the complaints they would work harder to find something out ,just an thought

I located what division they were set up in and contacted them, know hopefully i will get a respons.I feel if alot of us do this than we might get some good results.

Bryan can't you find out anything? You know people who know people etc. etc. etc.
just a thought.
:)

All I know is that the US Federal Government has seized all funds from eWalletXpress. That's about it. Hopefully they will release the monies owed to players, but this is the Federal Government. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

This is what happened with Neteller. It took a couple of YEARS for players to get their money back after Neteller made an agreement to pull out of the USA permanently, and pay a fine related to the profits made from US customers.

The "technical issues" excuse is nothing more than stalling. WHY the great secrecy though, with some operators saying "I cannot comment", and one spilling the beans a while back, and then going silent.

Maybe there is merit in keeping this news quiet for a period of time. I have heard that US customers have 90 days to dispute a transaction with their banks, so perhaps they are trying to stall so that customers are "out of time" by the time they find out what has happened.

What Bryan "knows" is what I suspected in November. I have never heard of any company taking MONTHS to sort out a "technical issue" that more or less shuts it down.

I wonder why the employees are still there, since they are not going to get paid at the end of the month if all the funds have been seized.

Since EWX serves both Canadian and US customers, what right does the US government have seizing funds from CANADIAN customers?
