Hiya folks, i was playing monopoly live game show @Paddy power yester, a abnormal event happened:-

Firstly, the wheel got stuck about 3x while i was playing, landing on the boundary between No.1 & 2. Amids lots of players on chat demanding a respin or a refund, but the host just pushes the needle onto 1 or 2 and play resumed, was that the correct procedure for gameplay, or just a hitched?

Secondly in one session, there was a good run of 2x & 4x rolls and mystery chance payout, then this strange thing happened in the middle of game play, when all bets is on , a man appeared in the game show, dressed as a service man i think, he walks towards the dice and started wiping it, then he approaches the wheel, examined it and i think he was wipeing and adjusting it.Wish i had recorded the video:((

After this naturally, gameplay slides downhill, now has anybody else been in one of this similar session?Does anyone think this is normal, and not rigged(not that i'm saying it is..).

If its anything like when i play monopoly with friends, theres probably alot of cheating going on.
=)

Not tried the casino version, but there are lots of videos on youtube of 'glitches' and things that make the game appear rigged/controlled.
I mean videos like this one.

Well I know that the wheel does slow at different speeds depending on direction likely due to the flapper design allowing more flex in one direction over the other. Usually this is fairly consistent. Appears in the vid that the wheel is being spun in the direction with most resistance and then gets enough spin back off the pin to go back into the previous space as that is the direction of least resistance.

That said though it looks as dodgy as hell and if there are not reasonable examples of it happening on other non roll segments then it is very suspicious.

The wheel is a physical device, it has bearings, flappers, rollers, so naturally, with anything physical, there will be wear issues and things that go wrong from time to time. The wheel is spun about 480 times a day, (assuming a spin occurs every three minutes), that's 240 in each direction, so wear should be consistent either way. The flappers do fail, so regular maintenance occurs on the wheel. I'm not sure what the schedule is, but at least once a day.
The wheel is made by TCS John Huxley, who also makes the Crazy Time and Playtech Spin A Win Wheels. They are roulette wheel manufactures and the Monopoly wheels etc are built to the same standards.

The talk of brakes etc is all B****it. Behind the wheel is fairly flat apart from a few sensor wires used for monitoring. I've seen the wheels at both Evolution and Playtech and they are the same.

The spin at the end of that video shows conclusively that the wheel is rigged IMO. The movement of the flapper goes out of sync with the wheel spokes, demonstrating that the flapper itself is under mechanical control.

It demonstrates that the flapper is broken and not operating as it should.

It's a shame that we don't see what happened next, which should be that they change the flapper, but we'll never know as the video is just a clip of one incident.

Just FYI for those reading, the pegs that the flapper hits are not solid pegs but are metal sleeves on a bearing, so each peg can spin back and forth dependant on the pressure being applied to it by the flapper.

If you think Hasbro are likely to allow one of their biggest brands to be used on a rigged game, you need more than a tinfoil hat.

And if you think Evolution would risk the wrath of Hasbro’s legal team finding out if they even tried it, get that tinfoil and bake your head in the oven.

I certainly think the segment which counts should be the last one the flapper arrives at in the direction of the spin. Should not be allowed to effectively reverse spin a segment so the 4 rolls should have counted.

There is a defined protocol for every type of error that occurs with the wheel, and it's strange to see that it wasn't followed in this instance. Playtech for example will roll forward on their wheels if there is a stuck flapper between two sections.

Sounds like a weird choice to me.
If the wheel slows down on #18, and gets stuck when it tries to roll over to #19, that means it never reached #19 and the last number (#18) should be counted as the number it 'landed' on since, well, it was.
I think that makes way more sense.

Also fully agree with siohmy, that the wheel can backtrack is some next level bs.
Not enough momentum to get past the 4 rolls, and then gains enough momentum to jump one section in the wrong direction to avoid the 4 rolls.

I do not think things are rigged personally.

But wondering if the wheel works like you say how can the videos be explained where the wheel keeps spinning and does not come to a stop and then game goes offline for short space of time.

Been a few of them posted and a couple on here before.

Basically - mechanical/electronic things break from time to time, and need repairs. Presumably it's a fairly quick repair, but the provider won't want to be broadcasting how it's completed.

Yeah I know things break down. But a spinning wheel will start to slow down even if it is broke. Not maintain the same speed for minutes if it is a natural wheel.

If a mechanical wheel without any sort of motor never stops spinning, i wouldnt call that broken, i would call it limitless free energy and probably win a couple noble prizes for coming up with it.
Some sort of motor malfunctioning seems like a more reasonable explanation when it comes to those wheels that never slow down/stop.
;)

'i dont think its rigged, but how do you explain the videos showing its obvisouly rigged?'
:p
