It happened to me.

Well KK mentioned Intercasino in another thread and that one brings back some bad memories. lol

That was back in 2001 or 2002. I was fairly new to online gaming and I was playing at Intercasino. I was obviously a rookie and didn't know much about these slots at all. Well, I hit the 5 rockets at shoot-o-rama but I was playing at 3 credits instead of 5. The jackpot was over 30k and I didn't win it. I won (IIRC) around $1500.

This is a screenshot that I just found of the old game (not mine).

Since then, I've never, ever, played a progressive slot if I couldn't win the progressive. I don't think that I need to tell you that but be warned: Don't ever take that chance of betting less than the minimum to win the progressive, because if you hit it it WILL haunt you for years.:D Better to just play another slot.

I hit one in 2007 or 2008 - CashSplash 5 Reel (MGS) for about $28k .... Best part was that it was on a Bonus.

I managed to misplace the Screenshot  ... Awesome feeling.

If you've got the 28k then it's not what this thread is about ;)

Congrats though!

You are right... sorry  - I DIDN'T read the Full thread title... Happens when you are spinning away and trying to read at the same time.

There are a whole lot of "penny" slots at my local landbased that have multilevel progressives, and you almost always have to play max coins to hit them. Since the minors and minis are around $12 and $30 a lot of time, and the bet required is $2 or more, I won't play them unless I play max bet.

Makes me cringe to watch someone play less than max on them even. I can handle the people playing 20 cents, it's the ones that play $1.60 when it's $2 really kill me.

This wasn't a progressive so its not the exactly same... but I once hit a royal on VP playing less than the full coins - I was down to my last couple of credits and didn't have enough left for the full, so dropped the coins down and hit the damn thing. Paid out at 250x rather than 800x for the full coin payout - that was annoying!
