Hi I've been lurking here for about a month, very useful information here. here's my first post, tell me what you guys think. This is cut and paste conversation, I thought this was some sick joke, but here is the conversation:

Millicent: Thank you for holding. Your friend has made a deposit in his account,but he still has to wager at least $100 for you to get your referral bonus

Millicent: You are not entitled to receive referral bonus. We are not giving bonuses to chinese.

Millicent: This is the last update that we have received. The Chinese customers are abusing the referral bonus program, so we are not giving it out anymore
X: Well I'm pretty sure various casino forums will be notified of this.

X: lol, you just discriminated against me because of my ethnic background and you are asking if you can help me?

By the way I'm Canadian with a chinese ancestors, been in Canada since I was three. Canadian bank account and everything, use a neteller account.

Could you just confirm exactly which casino you are referring to?
Is it Eurobet or beteuro?

Heh hee... When will organisations learn that good customer service isn't just saying standard and rehearsed official "nice things", it's all about actually listening and then acting on a customer's enquiry. I'm talking about all businesses, not just online casinos...

I can't really comment on your individual situation as I don't really understand it - particularly when you take this into account:

How the hell did they know or think you were Chinese then!??! Just guessing by the name!?? What if you got married or changed it or something?? If that's really all there is to the story - that's appalling!

Just go back up to the Casinomeister Forum link and click on that and then click on On Line Casino's link or the On Line Casino Complaints link and then click on the button that says NEW THREAD. Have a good one.

That is so crappy of them to do that to you! Did they just base it off of your name or what? The complete absurdity of it actually made me laugh out loud for about a full minute! I hope they feel ashamed and embarrassed, although I'm sure they won't. Good luck. Let us know if anything comes of it.

Probably too simplistic but can you e-mail them proof of Canadian citizenship? Do you have dual-citizenship?

In a perfect world, if their terms did not exclude Chinese from refer-a-friend bonuses at the time of referral, they should give it to you. If they did, that is their right.

Perhaps you could try to escalate the issue to management and determine when they decided to exclude the Chinese and if that is based on citizenship or residence.

Beteuro was operated by Alistair Assheton's VIP Management Services last time I looked, and that is a pretty big, businesslike group with several online gambling divisions. I have contacted them for comment, btw.

No disrespect to the previous posts as I'm sure they mean to help, but why in the world should you go through the motions of demonstrating your citizenship vs. your ethnic background?
I would advise you not to allow yourself to be subjected to their criteria, certainly not for a bonus.
It should Not Matter if you are Chinese. Refuse to yield the point.

These people should be shown to the entire community to be the cretins they are, and the only act you should take would be to contact whatever supervisors they have in order to see if they know of and/or adopt such idiotic behaviour.

I totally agree, there is no "middle ground" whatsoever on this issue.

The top man at VIP, Alistair Assheton has responded to my enquiry regarding this matter with an assurance that his group have absolutely no discriminatory policies on racial or ethnic grounds. Unfortunately he was unable to access the thread and I have therefore sent him a copy of the complaint to study and investigate.

Watercreature, if you would like this executive's email address to assist his investigation and redress this matter please PM me.

I really am not mad over this. I showed this to friends and they started to laugh too. But thanks for all your concerns. There is no way I'm giving them my passport or anything like that. It is irrelevant and why would I want a crooked site like that with that info of mine? I'm not losing any sleep over this or emotionally scarred, I just wanted to warn you and well, give you a laugh at the gross incompetency of the site.

Chinese name

Chinese name is special, if you are Chinese or totally know Chinese language, and there is a Chinese name, I am almost 100% sure you can tell it out, :) even only by one of first or last name.

For example, ZHANG is very popular Chinese last name, over 10 million Chinese people used, Does anyone see this word elsewhere?

You are clearly an understanding person, Watercreature - in your position I would have been pretty cross about this. However, it's your prerogative to pursue the issue or not and I respect that.

Assheton is a very responsible businessman with a sound track record, and I believe him to be sincere in rejecting discrimination and offering to investigate your complaint. The offer to supply his personal email to facilitate this remains open.
