End Of UK Bonuses? Wagering Reqs Banned!

I just wish that they scrap all wagering altogether on all types of bonuses.

But it wont happen. This is the first step, lets hope more steps follow. So that casinos need to also remove wagering from freespin winnings too. VS and Rizk And many others have no wagering on money won from freespins. And all casinos should follow suit.

Like CasinoHeroes I signed up to the other day. All those rewards we get from the fights all come with 40X wagering. I am sorry but this is just stinking bad.

If casinos advertise clearly a bonus such as "pay £50 entry fee to get £100 worth of play credits . Use these play credits to make a minimum of £2000 of spins on slots and whatever your credit balance is at the end then turns into real money !" then I feel like it's fair . Personally I enjoy this "challenge" becaus e I'm going to gamble anyway so at least I get more money to gamble with and because it's essentially play credits until wagering is done then if I get a decent hit I then get to gamble and raise my stake without having that nagging feeling that I'm risking losing all my winnings

I think this whole can of worms came from marketing. Casinos wanted to be able to headline with "too good to be true at face value" offers to out compete each other. This is of course not sustainable, but their answer was to keep the headline offers, but add ever more complex terms and conditions to ensure they remained sustainable. It is this trend to ever more complex terms that has lead to this reaction from the regulators. They don't want ever more complex terms rejigged into slightly more understandable forms, they want "rip it up and start again", a very simple system, and the one they have chosen to impose is a ban on the player's cash deposit and winnings from this cash being tied into complex wagering and restriction terms.

This means that the headlines in future will have to be "true at face value", and this means that casinos will no longer be able to outcompete by using ridiculous headline offers. Players are going to think the bonuses have been made FAR worse, but in fact they will have been made BETTER as the situation of taking a bonus and then hitting a big win early on will no longer mean finding that early win ending up being played back in an attempt to meet WR.

Separation of cash and bonus has been tried before, and Casino Rewards have a system along these lines for their regular player promotions, which may actually give them an advantage when it comes to these new rules as they will have less to change than casinos that put the bonus in with the deposited cash by default.

Casinos could go back to separate accounts for cash and bonus rewards, so that all wagering on deposited cash comes with no restrictions. The bonus account is where the wagering requirements will need to be met in order to allow the bonus funds and winnings to be converted to cash and withdrawn, or moved into the cash account. They could further avoid falling foul of the "unfair treatment" clauses of the Consumer protection laws by using software to enforce the blocking of certain games and limiting bet amounts, rather than expecting the player to read a et of complex terms and then hold a list of restricted games in their heads as they play. Some casinos have already moved to software based enforcement of restricted games.

If these new regulations came into play on the 28th Feb.

Why haven't ALL UKGC licensed casinos changed their bonus mechanism and terms & conditions by now?

Obviously, some casinos didn't need to change much (LeoVegas, Betat, etc) and some have changed completely(32Red, Roxy, etc).

But many seem to be ignoring the new regulations. I can find any changes to the MT SecureTrade sites, or EveryMatrix sites, which I've checked.

Looked for this thread earlier and could I remember the name of it.....

Yeah in agreement another fine mess the UKGC has got us into

Seems various approaches are been taken, some do it as it 'reads' (Ie 32 red) others not at all (Mr Win (EM)) and some can't be arsed at all so remove something which has been there for years (Guts- Monday double deal)

Now is the time for casinos who hold cash / bonus separate to take advantage and secure players business / retention (LV, Betat, SM, Caddell etc) as regular bonus players such as myself will move their complete budget towards these sort of set ups and totally forget all about those who haven't made an effort to implement a replacement mechanism!

Bonuses have needed a major shake-up for years, with casinos leaning way too much towards profit and fund confiscation. Will be interesting to see how casinos adapt and which make an effort for player retention. Better the boat gets rocked than a gentle 'ripple' :D

Good morning, Jono777.

In regards to the 40% weekly Monday bonus, indeed there can be expected new static promotions that will be just as good and even more engaging!
We will bring the positive feedback further to echo in the promotions lab.

There can be more to expect from us without a doubt!

Kind regards,

Your Guts Casinomeister Team

But no mention of changing the bonus T&C (including the welcome bonus).

This clause should have been removed before 28/2/2018...
5. The deposit and possible winnings connected to the bonus will be locked to casino until the wagering has been completed

It can't be too much of a technical problem since other casinos on the same platform have managed to comply.

This clause is from Casinoland's new bonus T&C
4. As of 28/02/2018 the deposit is no longer tied to the bonus terms and conditions. The deposit and possible winnings from the deposit can be withdrawn at any time. Once a player starts using their bonus funds the following terms below will apply.
