Thought here would be a good place to let UK players know that they can express their opinions about proposals here:

Old / Expired Link

It’s not often we get an input so perhaps you might want to take 10 mins to help shape the future of online gambling from the humble players’ points of view...

No big deal - it'll just mean you'll effectively get bonuses which are played post-cash like the Nektan ones, or Bet-at and numerous others. Or they'll be like Midaur, Sunbets and Novibet whereby you earn the bonus in withdrawable cash as you play but don't get it 'front-loaded' which IMPO are the best and fairest ones.

Saw this on the Breakfast news today - what a complete load of bollocks...AGAIN!

The problem I have with it, is the word "unfair":
Is it unfair to ask players to turn over FREE money they have been given?
NO! It fricking isn't!
Jeeeeze

It's not unfair to turnover free money, but it's the way it's communicated before any wagering requirement is done, or communicated. They have to communicate the whole thing, not just the part that's attractive for the players to attract them to deposit

Maybe so for those with deeper pockets but how about me and the zillions of other low budget, low rollers out there?

Bonus = extra play time (hopefully!), cash only = faster busts, loss of interest, loss of custom, makes no sense at all.

AYS, lets hope they go down the BetAt, Leo Vegas (even mention Caddell here) where the cash / bonus balance are kept apart until all cash has gone or can be w/d along the way and wagering basically applies when you're playing with THEIR money. Terms at these places are pretty straightforward so they wouldn't fall foul of that rule either.

Still total nonsense IMO, making out players are clueless!

That's exactly what it's getting at - at NO stage will your real money deposit be tied into bonus funds, so bang goes 32Red's bonus system and any others which tie cash in to bonus wagering. It won't affect many bonus deals/casinos as you've said, just those which offer bonuses that turn your cash deposit into bonus funds too. About bloody time IMO.

That's not what they're saying, you can still have bonuses but they mustn't commit real money funds to their wagering.

Yeah, I'm with you now. More of a needless panic before I had a full understanding of the matter.

Now in total agreement. I use 32 Red's DOTD regular - I'm pretty sure they'll find an amicable alternative pretty easily.

As for EM sites (example among others) where the complete balance is turned into bonus money upon deposit and taking a bonus then I'm actually totally 'for' this move.

I'd also noticed over the past few months the slow decline of "xB" and steady increase of "xD+B", well up your kilt to those who started this player unfriendly move lol

Lets just hope anyone involved in the "transition" doesn't totally balls everything up along the way which we've seen once too often in other areas already

Any therein lies the reason - D+B means usually a separate cash/bonus balance.

Maybe so but a good few appearing that this is not the case.

Few quick examples off top of my head lol, Guts went from D to D+B on some of their reloads - One balance tied in, also Fantasino (EM - 30 x D+B) think Trada also (25x D+B) Casumo partially as you can w/d only a portion of total balance depending on bonus %age taken.

  • Gambling firms must not make players take part in publicity to collect winnings

Written Into a fair few terms at casinos and bingo sites that nutnut.
'By playing a at our casino, should the player win a progressive jackpot he or she agrees to allow us to publish his win, including his name and an ugly mug shot of him holding up a stupid cheque that is bigger than he is, should we choose to do so'

Yet again more Government interference.

What is wrong with people accepting responsibility for their own actions? Things such as, oh I don't like the terms of that bonus so I won't take it.

I can't say I'm a big fan of the leovegas/betat/slotsmillions etc type bonuses, unless your cash can contribute to the wagering.

Ok, you might be able to withdraw early and forget about the bonus, should you get an early big hit with your cash. But tbh those early big hits seem to happen less and less these days.
I find it harder to get through the wagering when only bonus funds count towards it.

A 'standard' bonus of 100% at, say, £100 at 35xB gives you a start balance of £200 and wagering of £3500 which works out at 17.5x starting balance.
But with the other type of bonus you still have the same £3500 to wager. BUT because you've already lost half your balance (your cash) before you even start wagering. You start wagering from balance of only £100 which is 35x starting balance. Same wagering (£3500), but only half the balance to 'go at it with'
Even a 'standard' bonus with 50xB or 60xB gives you a better chance with 25x or 30x starting balance.

And if you play at stakes 'appropriate' to your balance, you're more likely to play at a bigger stake with £200 starting balance than £100 starting balance, meaning that should you complete the wagering, you're more likely to have a bigger balance than playing at the lower stakes, trying harder not to bust out

All very good points but you're going to be screwed going forward by the sound of things.

I think, to some extent, the casinos have brought this upon themselves with their convoluted, difficult to understand (for a new player) and often contradictory bonus terms and conditions, often designed just to screw the player over.

So now the UKGC has said, 'ok, have your dodgy bonus T&C. but you can now only apply those terms to your money (the bonus), and not to the players money (the cash)'

Dodgy terms aside, it for me always has been clear that you can't cash out until wagering has been completed with the type of bonus that will now no longer be allowed. For that reason, I rarely take such bonus. It is a player's choice that is now been taken away by Government interference.

I can't see any positive coming out of this. I foresee the UK being bonus banned from casinos, just like other countries are bonus banned.
