eCOGRA - is it worth the bother?

I am interested in peoples experience when they have been unfortunate enough to have to escalate a complaint against a casino to eCOGRA, is there really any point? I personally have logged a complete against 888Casino with eCOGRA simply because their own customer service is shocking incompetent beyond belief and they refuse to deal with any other 3rd party such as our beloved CM.

If you have had to contact eCOGRA what was your experience? Did you get a resolution? Favourable/Unfavourable? Can eCOGRA actually do anything anyway?

I used them once before, a few years ago, and found them completely useless and they found in favour of the casino. I decided a few months later to register a complaint on how they handled my case, and a week later they had reviewed it and found in my favour. They never kept me updated, I was always chasing them trying to get updates, and if I hadnt decided to complain about them, i would have been £4K worse off.

I am not holding my breath with them, I know they say it can take up to 90 days and they keep you informed but 4 weeks later still heard not a peep from them, despite chasing, and I am under no illusion as to who they will inevitably find in favor of. If nothing else I suppose it is at least another statistic against 888Casino's poor customer care and yet another blot on their copy book.:(

I've only had one complaint with eCOGRA in the past, and they found in my favor which in turn made the casino pay me. The process took a few weeks from what I remember.

The biggest issue here is you're in dispute with 888. Rarely anyone comes out of a battle with them a winner. Best of luck with your complaint.

I honestly do not expect to get anything out of this. In my mind it is purely an exercise in futility with the only outcome being for the casino and a small consolation that I have added to the ever increasing stinking pile of complaints against 888.

Well finally got a reply from eCOGRA and surprise, surprise, 888 are correct and I am wrong however I still do not know WHY I am wrong! Impartial ADR my Ar***! :D

This a quote from my reply

Due to the nature of the discrepancies, which we have reviewed, we can unfortunately not provide you with the specific details behind the process of the discrepancies being identified as this would negatively impact the security of the site and its processes.

So, eCOGRA is allowed to view information about me but will not provide me the same information?

What a total waste of time this was. Just as a matter of principal I am going to submit a Freedom of Information request under the Data Protection Act to see exactly what 888 hold about me, maybe this will give me some more info!
