Wasn't sure if this was posted yet but it is now nearly sure from 2015 onwards it will be legal for Dutch citizens to gamble online.
Now it is still a shady business for Dutch residents to gamble online at national online casino's and most resort to online casino's run on foreign soil.
This will now be changed and is of course a promising and positive development for Dutch gamblers.
I do not live in Holland anymore but I am Dutch born and raised and I am happy the market will be open now,and legal for all.
This will first of all demise the power of the Dutch Lotto/Toto/Sports pool organizers as they have a monopoly on the Dutch market which is outrageous.
So I foresee many more lotteries being legal like Euromillions,a game we cannot play in Holland due to the monopoly of the current organisation.
For the online casino market this will also be a huge opportunity and many Dutch managed casino's might now get their doors wide open for the Dutch public.
Also the Dutch State Casino (Holland Casino) is gonna lose ground and there will be spaces made for other casino's,so not only HC is eligable anymore to run landbased casino's in The Netherlands.
All in all a good development me thinks!
But I live in Ireland and thank God there are no restrictions for Irish residents to have a flutter online.
Anyway good move and I am glad for my fellow Dutchies!
