I would keep it simple and reveal all at the end of the competition, one week will not make much difference. And if you will start revealing winner for each week it will take the 'excitement' from the whole contest. At the moment no one knows what's going on and who have higher chance to win.

+1. This is the best option. Having any kind of "leaderboard" published at the end of each week could also lead to the potential
drawback of reduced participation in the last week of the competition. If someone were to see that after three weeks, they have no mathematical chance of finishing in the Top 4, then they have been given the "excuse" they need to "not be arsed" to take part in the final week.

Also, WHEN Tirilej gets confirmation that she has 30 out of 30 after 3 weeks , I'm sure she can put her "bragging rights" on hold
until the end of the contest, knowing that she can have the knowledge that you're filling your pants at an alarming rate, due to you
having to face the real danger of having to make an expletive-filled NSFC 4 hour vid of playing Starburst as a consolation.

And you of course can (if you want to**) have your weekly and overall leaderboards for each week prepared in advance.
Then post them in fairly quick succession (maybe an hour or two apart?) at the end.

Announcement!

As posters will be aware, there have been varying opinions about weekly results, leader-boards and allocation of funds. As the first answers will be posted in just over 24 hours I feel that having absorbed the general consensus here I can (finally!) make a decision that should be a nice compromise to all corners here. As the saying goes "You can't please everyone" but I have had a good try! The rules of the quiz haven't changed, I'm simply establishing how the each weekly event should proceed.

Karolina made a good point about having a final reveal so as to encourage continued participation. Last year, it did put some off who weren't within a point or two of top after week 1.
KK made a good point about having something weekly.
A further comment above suggested the answers are revealed and we have a gentleman's agreement not to disclose scores to others until the end. I agree. Keep your score to yourself.
Ben also stated he would like to see his pledge be added to some others so ONE charity gets a decent amount. I agree.

Since Ben's comment we have had (mainly thanks to Tirilej's avid fundraising which I wasn't aware of until she PM'd me and then the donations started appearing en masse! ) a large number of substantial amounts donated. It's been a very pleasant headache for me but has given me some leeway to include a weekly gift.

So, here's what will happen:

Each entrant has been allocated a number in order of their entry i.e. if Spintee was the third entry he is allocated number 3. This is irrespective of score. These numbers will go into a hat Saturday and one will be drawn. The winner will then have the charity choice for that week. They will be allocated one of the non-specific donations, for example 32red's to nominate a charity for. Their number will then be removed from the hat so that next week it's guaranteed a different winner will be drawn.

The specific donations (i.e. Karolina's for second, and Bet-at's for the winner) will be honoured. As we have 12 current donations totalling in excess of 3k this will leave 9 at least for the final winners including those 2 examples. I will allocate 5 of them to first, 2 to second and one each to third and fourth. This will mean the winner would have at least 1.2k so one charity can benefit from a significant amount. I can't force the winner to allocate it to one charity, but as Ben said it would be nice.

I hope this settles the issues raised on this thread recently, and everyone can agree now.

So, keep your final weekly score to yourself, and keep banging away at it. However well you've done, you'll be in with at least the chance of a nice charity nomination each week, as well as your own cash prize at the end!

Well thanks for that! It seems the complications are out of the way now, I made the decision based on what people suggested on this thread as to how to proceed each week. So, simply check your score with the answers - keep it to yourself only YOU should know how you've done. I'll be the only person who knows all the scores from everybody. They will be logged each week and published at the end.

The good news is that this Saturday one lucky entrant will be drawn to allocate 32Red's $250 donation to a charity of their choice!!

There won't be a leader-board each week. Too many people said it was not the way to go, and I agree. On Saturday the previous week's answers will be published and you self-mark your score and keep it to yourself. At the same time the next week's images will be posted as well as the lucky draw winner who will nominate the 32red $250 charity of their choice.

An easy way to always have the pictures at hand is to do what I did. I took a screenie and placed it on my screen.
If I needed to compare anything I just closed the page down and voila, there they were
Each pictures I found I erased. That way it was easier to see which ones I had left and focus on them.

Just a tip so people don't need to open this thread up each time they want to search
