Dumb downloading question...

    I was thrilled when got this message from a Grand Mondial rep, but I have the dumbest problem here. I am trying to download this particular game (Tomb Raider - Secret of the Sword) for 3 days already, and am getting nowhere. The download either won't start, or would freeze in the middle, or appears to be progressing but at such a painful speed (18% downloaded after 6 hours) that I give up and turn off computer. Any other game in same casino takes couple of minutes or less to download and play... please - what am I doing wrong? Thanks!!!!

    Sometimes it helps to download and reinstall the complete casino...but I would wait if others here have better ideas than me.

    That's a very strange problem, and definitely NOT anything to do with too many people trying to download at the same time. However, it could be a server problem. If you have any other MG casinos on your PC try downloading the game on that. If that works, go back to Mondial & try again. (MG casinos now basically 'copy' games from one casino to another)

    If that's no good, then I'm afraid un & re-installing may be the only solution.

    How come you think it is definitely not a bandwidth problem KK?
    Just curious because it seemed plausible to me unless you know it is fine on other peeps PC's.

    One otehr thing you could try fleur is to log out and exit the casino then delete the tombraider2 game registry
    it will probably be in c:/Microgaming/casino/"name of casino you are playing"/Global/gameregistry/tombraider2
    right click and select delete
    restart the casino and it should autoupdate either when you are logged in or when you start the game.

    It is worth a try I guess as it will only take a few seconds.

    Thanks for your answers. I finally downloaded game (had to leave my PC on overnight, took about 14 hours...)... finished it off, and uninstalled GM for good. Not a place I want to come back to - CS is just ridiculous.
    I tried to ask Live Help earlier about a problem, and it was so stressfull, I swore to never come back. One rep hang up on me. Another said hello, and I never heard another word from him, after waiting for half an hour... The third one was willing to chat but seemed clueless (he suggested that I go to google, find links for Active X controls "somewhere", download those and it supposedly would help to eliminate "my problem". Weird - I had no problem getting other games from GM, or this game from other MG casinos!) Anyway, this casino is crossed-out from my list now :D

    That does not seem to be as reliable as it used to be under the old system.

    It seems odd that it can take so long for a particular game to load, and has to be down to a corrupt file somewhere in the installed Microgaming system. Now, most of the near 2 Gig casino data is held centrally, with each casino creating it's own references to it. The good news is that reinstalling a particular casino is nowhere near as big a problem it once was, provided you have at least one other installed and working MG casino.

    I didn't get 200 free spins on TRII:mad: - why not rep??
    (bet they were 1c and 10 lines per spin though;) )

    It was 10 lines, 10 cents per line - a bit frustrating, especially when nice combinations appeared on inactive lines... I understand it was a promotion for first-time players on their second deposit.
