basically fight or flight without the means of flight
Or fight.
Yes, sleep paralysis. My partner had that a few years ago and will describe the shadowy figure, fear etc so will remind me of this every once in a while. But it's certainly something she's etched onto her mind :eek2:

Like everyone else, I'll have about 2-3 vivid dreams a year where I'll remember little snippets of it, whilst most of us will be aware that we dream all the time but simply can't consciously recollect them!

Dreams are great for the most part because they're infinite in variable and scope, because they're seemingly a blend of everything mentioned prior, namely past experiences (whether recent or distant), activities undertaken at the time (work etc), general fears, specific fears & fantastical outcomes that almost seem real.

The latter I've been subject to many a time, and can be a real bitch round about 3 seconds after waking up.

Not that long ago I literally dreamt that I'd won £15 Billion on Bonanza, and I'm not even a highroller

Seconded only by a full screen of wilds in DOA 1 (not 2, it must be noted). That one pissed me off for at least 30 seconds
One of my best and worst dreams was when i dreamt we got a Nintendo 64 for christmas.
Was a couple days after christmas, but the damn dream felt so real i was convinced it would be standing in the living-room when i ran there to check.
The dream was awesome, finding out it was not real was a pretty bad experience.

Had something similar not all that long ago, but that time i dreamt that me and my ex had gotten back together. That time i woke up thinking "oh f*ck, i was sure we had broken up" tho.
So was kind of relieved once i realized it had just been a dream.
:)

Im not sure how Freud would enterpret dreaming about ones ex, probably something to do with either your mom or dad.
Im more inclined to think it has something to do with the fact that:

As I have mentioned before my dreams seem to always involve trains last night I dreamt I got on a train to Manchester but when I got off the train I somehow found myself in Norwich . I then could not find my way back to a platform to get away from Norwich and I was fumbling on my phone to find my train ticket but it kept loading up the wrong internet pages or dialling numbers,

Dream experts explain this?

A few years back I kept waking up and looking at the clock and every time this happened the time was 02:53 Hrs this went on for weeks and I made the mistake of googling it.
All sorts of crap like the witching hour
This was the time I died in my previous life
This was the time I was gonna die in this life
Blah blah blah
On speaking to a friend who’s a GP he explained that it was in my sub concision because the first night I woke at 02:53 a bit like waking just before your alarm goes off.

I hate when you get into a 3am or 4am constant cycle, it happened so often to me at one point that I could memorise which VS battle was on at 4.15am and decide whether I should just get out of bed and play it. :p
