No phun intended! (Ok maybe a little :p)

Sometimes my Wlan USB receiver gets very hot, so hot you'd almost burn your finger touching it. Is that normal? I noticed that whenever this happens, internet and network traffic will slow down to a point where i can't even browse confortably let alone download stuff or play casino games. I seriously put it in the freezer for like 15 minutes and when i plug it back in, everything works fine again :what:

    1. Does anybody experience anything similar?
    2. Is it safe to put it in the freezer?
    3. While we're on the subject of dongles, watch this :D You must register/login in order to see the link.

Hey andy thanks for your elaborate response, and glad you liked the vid
Anyways, you are completely right about the warranty and I did think about returning the product (which is from Netgear btw) but the thing is, i've experienced this with other WLAN receivers in the past as well. Hence my question, is this a normal thing? If not I suspect there might be something wrong with the USB ports in my PC.

To answers your question: Yes, im dead serious about putting my dongle in the freezer (God that sounds stupid when you say it out loud :p) Obviously it's not a smart thing to do, but i dont feel like waiting half an hour every time that little bugger overheats! It will break eventually but these things are cheap nowadays, im actually more concerned about PC malfunction
