Due to low funds I have been reducing my bets down from £1 or £1.50 to 20p or 40p, yesterday I deposited on Betfred and played 20ps and it was gone in virtually the same timescale that a 50p or £1 bet would.

I expected that playing at 20p i would get a least a few wins to keep it going but this only happened once when I won £4.20 it isn't the first time I have played at the lowest stakes and not had much playtime.

I played dead or alive at 27p and had the same result on another casino so if you stake lower does this mean your chances of winning are smaller.

I am not expecting to win big on 20p but I would have though that spinning more times would eventually produce a feature or a big win.

Not sure i wouldn't think it makes any difference , albeit the exception of micro gaming , i play similar to you , ive tried low stakes & get bored & frustrated with it . you can get great game time but if you hit big your going to be pissed off , due to normal stakes you play on.
maybe your going via a cold run & your not going to be the first , first time this year where ive managed to play with a £300 + £300 bonus deposit for nearly a whole week )

But ive stayed clear of micro gaming games, found a new software which seems to be fair to me , i had kinda of written them off , before playing their games fully , ive had great results with mixed bets up to 20 quid on playngo ,this software is underrated in my opinion try different software's you may well see some better results )

Yeah, in effect you're only getting an 'extra' spin when halving your bet size from say 40 to 20p so playtime isn't likely to be extended as much as we think. It would take several hundred spins to spot the disparity, and that might just add 20 minutes to the session

You're only likely to notice longer sessions when scaling back from £1 to 20p for example, and then get annoyed at winning when having bet so low

Of course I'll bet according to my deposit, and they're often batches of £15-20, so I'll stick to 9-20p bets (wow:eek2:).

If I deposit £30-40, I'll up my bets for the same playtime. I cannot envisage laying down £100 and doing small bets just to play longer and increase my chances of hitting something, based on the negligible extra spins. DOA is the exception though, because every session drags on regardless :(

I expect to get a feature though as I have spun twice as many times as with a 40p bet but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

If I bet £1 and go down to 20p I should in effect have a 5 times more chance of the feature coming up but it doesn't seem to work that way.

Well, to me, it sure as hell feels like it.

I can play a slot at one site at 20c-40c and it will hit decent. Dare I raise, it will immediately stop paying ANYTHING!

I swear sometimes I think the softwares have you pigeon holed into one betting level. It knows you habit and if you vary from it, it puts the screws to you.

I know, I know........... foil hat time.

But it sure seems to work that way on me.

    Interesting thread.

I see lots of people who change stakes either go higher or lower and suddenly within a spin or two they trigger a feature. It's happened to me so many times today for example I was playing on the Mega Moolah slot at £2 per spin and nothing I must have done about 200 spins at this stake, I changed to £4.25 and the second spin hit the free spins didn't win huge then 5 spins later I got the free spins again.

It's happens so many times to me including playing the slots in real life casinos and bookies. Either it's a huge coincidence or by changing the stakes really does give you better odds at triggering a bonus.

There's plenty of threads here claiming that raising your betsize causes the slot to stop paying.. now this thread is saying the opposite

Can't say I've ever had much luck with raising my bets, but of course I had far fewer spins to discover the full effect of going gung-ho:oops:

I might have raised my balance to £200 from nothing, done several big bets like £3 (!) until realizing that it's probably in my best interests to go back to more manageable levels round about the £100 mark.

Of course I'd like to disprove the betsize theory for longer but don't fancy depositing a grand to find out!

I am not talking about lower or raising I am talking about depositing and then using a low stake, so when I deposited yesterday I played 20p.

So in my situation I played 20p from the start to the end but in a time of better finances I might have played £1.

In one season anything can happen.
After millions of bets (equal nummber of bets on eny bet size) you just lose more with higher bet size simply because you bet more.
If you just play untill you run out of money, smaller bets mean more bets and more playtime.
If you want to reach a goal, lets say double the deposit, and then cashout, it is better to try and hit a good win with bigger bet.

Maybe I'm cynical but having played online slots for years, I'm almost certain the game or site knows exactly how much you are going to win on a roll or bonus regardless of bet size. You see people playing £5-10 spins and winning the same amount as lower rollers. Let's say you have £100 left in your balance, and you say f**k it I'm going £10 a spin and you hit a bonus and win £500, had you continued on £2 stake you'd probably have won the same. This is just my opinion and but noticed patterns over the years. I had experiences of losing £700 in one casino, then 6 months later joining a site which is in the same group as that casino, and winning £700 from one deposit. I don't believe there is anything random except the odd jackpot etc. I'm a software engineer so have a fairly good idea of how this works. Doesn't stop us getting sucked in though!

    low stake - big win!

Playing Fairy Queen on Stargames. Seems the bonus round on this slot is really hard to trigger so I thought - challenge accepted! I´m gonna get free spins.
First lost 3 30eur deposits, then on my fourth I got free spins on the third spin. 5 retriggers and won 760eur on 30 cent bet! Got another soon after, no retriggers so only 80euro.
It takes some luck and a lot of patience - I don´t think it has to do with how high the stakes are
