Damn Trash Pandas

Grr, third time in 2 weeks wake to find my garbage strewn across the yard by raccoons.
And these aren't bags, but bins with lids, lock-handles and 'secure' clips to keep them closed, and the rotten little thumbed varmints still manage to break them open.

Anyone have tips (humane) to curb the little bastiches?

I'm having the exact same problem except it's stray cats not raccoons. They are feasting on my garbage.

Some guy who lives near me started feeding them and now at least a half a dozen stray cats are hanging around near my house.
I'm very close to calling the local council and asking them to do something about it.

These cats are everywhere...

Lol, I've not as many stray cats as you though there's a few on my street... but the dogs generally keep them at bay (and the one cat's pretty much a bitch too will take down any cat too close).
The raccoons on the other hand come in the wee hrs when the dogs are locked inside.
