CW processor takes 'extra' ?

Messed with my mind... and my balance...

Deposited $30.10 (and that's what went into my CW acct) using prepaid... but $30.53 was charged by processor. Not cool.

I noticed it when I went to double check my balance after trying to make another deposit which didn't go thru for 'insufficient funds'. No kidding... I was .43 short.

Happened last holidays when I was playing, but thought I'd just goofed on my figures.

I'd forgotten how much it costs just to get money from here to there... pffffffft....

Screw it... I'm going to go watch Indy...

It happens all the time when I deposit. You have to make sure that you have anywhere from $2 to $5 more than your deposit amount to take care of the 'extra'.

I have never had any problem with CW processors but I am just not too comfortable with them right now. I think it has to do with the actual countries they charges are coming from. It's probably just me. LOL!

Same here, no matter where I play. If I deposit using my Netspend card I better count on 2-3$ extra

Well, my card charges me $2 per... but at least I know how much they take out, so I can allow... but that 'guess how much we skim off the top' processing... that sucks. No telling how much the casinos pay processors on top of that per transaction.

I didn't see anything weird with my INet deposit. Just the CW.

Whenever I use prepaid VISA, there's generally a 1-3 dollar extra charge, but with MC it's always exactly the amount

My debit card always matches the amount that my purchase confirmation e-mail states. My bank then charges me a few cents.

i.e. I deposit $21.00, I will have a fee of 18c-20c. It is the norm for my account anyway.

When using my Visa debit card, iNetBet and Jackpot Capital always charge a little less, by a few pennies, never more than my deposit amount. That's how it should work rather than more. I deposit 50 or 100 and the charge will be 49.89 or 99.97, for example. I guess they think that makes the withdrawal look more like a store purchase? The games we all play just to play!!

They might be charging a percentage of the sum deposited. Mousey is charged 0.43 which is roughly equivalent to 1.4%. CW could check this with the processor and relay the actual calculations to the players.

On my last 3 deposits to CW casinos, I was charged 49.96 plus $1.75 on one, $24.92 plus $.87 and $50.02 plus $1.75. Each extra shows the processor. Now if you add this up, I got charged $3.37 over on 3 deposits. That could turn out to be a nice bit of change for somebody in a months time.

Sloto deposits don't do that.

The charges for your deposits are easier to calculate as they work out to 3.5% for each transaction. I do not understand the discrepancy with Mousey's charges but obviously I would opt for hers as its only 1.4% lol.

One other thing that bothers me, I don't mind the clothing I buy from China or the computer stuff from Azerbijian but a couple of my last deposits were tagged 'medical supplies' from Hong Kong.

As paranoid as the US is about overseas medical purchases, this might be a big red flag to the bank. I might be as paranoid as the gov. but I just am not at all easy about charges tagged this way.

Yeah, it begins to feel kinda weird... I think I can handle explaining the games I access online for a fee... ummm... maybe like facebook... or ummm... pogo or something easier than some of the stuff CW comes up with... maybe medical supplies are dog vitamins?

doing it again iput money into tonight and sure enough they r taking more then they should and if i look back there will more then likely be more.

Oh, I don't think CW is getting the 'extra'... I think their processor is 'skimming' and keeping it. Per individual transaction, +.40 or even .70 is not that much... but that much for EVERY USA card transaction adds up and is putting some extra moolah into someone's pocket. I only play a little bit every few months, usually during a long holiday weekend (like this one) for a bit of recreation, so I really hadn't noticed.

And from your experience kauphy, CW knows about it, but their processors are still doing it 6 months later.... Heaven knows we pay out the wahzoo just trying to get money from here to there (and vice versa for the few lucky ones) without these 'unknown' fees showing up. If it's a set percentage for whatever reason (conversion rate?), we should be told about it.

I know it's a holiday, but I'm going to PM Tom to this thread.

That is worrisome, as how the devil do you know what it's for? You know it's not a deposit - so the processor just decided they wanted another dollar? And what international transaction fee? Your card charges you that?

If any of these jokers tries to charge one of my old cards, they'll be SOL because I don't do the 'permanent' NS just using the temporary card for a couple months, then letting it go dead. Then get a new one should I want to play after a few months.

So what happens if you dispute the charge? Will you then be blacklisted at the casinos for chargebacks?

The more I read, the less I'm liking this whole thing.... I pity anyone that uses a 'real' bank CC or debit card.

i don,t think they are getting the extra but seeing they are the ones using the processor then they need to do something about it.

Just for grins, I went back thru my deposits for the month and figured out how much over I had been charged. I am more than little annoyed. Most of the deposits were to Club World casinos.

I was charged $34.01 over what I had deposited. Seriously? Are the casinos paying these guys to process deposits/withdrawal and then they are gouging us again? Heck, I could have made another deposit with this.

You are being charged over the limit you are autorizing the transaction for? I know in the retail world that is illegal. That in the governments eyes is stealing. I remember years ago, like 7 or 8 years one grocery store had over charged me a few dollars. A friend of mine was the manager at the time before he passed away, I showed him my receipt and the charge on my bank statement. He immediatly credited my debit card. There must have been a glitch in the system, because it was in the news that the government fined the store almost 70 grand for stealing. And to make good on everything the grocery store credited the amount overcharged and then gave a gift card to the store for that amount too.

I would bring this to Toms attention, and see what his take is on the situation. I agree with most of you when it was said that it isn't the casino, but most likely the processor. But Tom should be aware of this because it is the Casinos customers that are unhappy about it.

Well see I ended up as of late dumping Netspend, mainly because I got tired of being randomly declined at casinos. So I switched to something else for a bit. I haven't made a deposit into Netspend for well over 3 months, then magically I get a text message. Informing me I had been charged $0.99 on a Netspend account that had apparently a positive balance of $0.77, which now results in my Netspend card being overdrawn for $0.22.
To say the least, I'm rather upset because I really don't feel like paying Netspend back the $0.22 for a processor or someone who decided to steal a batch of casino's credit card numbers. My guess is someone is running tests on cards to see what cards are active and which ones aren't. If this settles I have no idea what to do. To be blacklisted over $0.99 will be not a good ordeal. Yet if I see more and more random charges try to come thru. I will not be a happy camper and take my aggression out on the casinos for turning to a really, really, rogue processor to process there payments.

Isn't NS a prepaid?

If it is a prepaid, then how can they "charge" you for being over if the money isn't on there? They only one way I know of that this could happen is if they (either processors or NS themselves) are using authorization numbers more than once.

I would contact NS and see what these authorizations numbers are. Because if it is infact these processors trying to see what cards are good and what ones are not, and it is from CWC, they should take immediate action against them. They are ripping off CWC players, and I am sure CWC will not be to happy about it.

This is just horrible that it is happening. If it is happening to you memebers here, can you imagine how many others this is happening to who arent members.

Was the $1.95 from a processor that you're familiar with? And how the devil did they put NS into the red? Guess I'd better keep an eye on my NS this week...

Depending on your level of Netspend, they will cover up to $10 so it is possible to overdraw the card.

But now here's the odd part, these extra charges are not coming in at the time that you do the transactions. They are separate transactions but to the same processor that was used for the deposit. The original transaction shows up as pending and then when it goes thru, the extra charge is made. So it could be several days until the extra charge is made.
