What are the current options if an US citizen wants to gamble online?
Is there any other country with similar restrictions?

I can only respond to the question regarding US players.

It is important that you stick to the Accredited Casinos for the most reliable and prompt payment of winnings.

Most credit cards and debit cards will work for depositing, but be prepared for the inevitable "fraud" call from your cc company regarding international transactions. I have had success using prepaid Visa cards from my credit union.

Withdrawals will take longer than any other country due to the banking restrictions and the "creative ways" casinos have to utilize to get us paid.

The best sites IMO for US players from the accredited list are Club World Group - several casinos and two different software platforms and 3Dice. Both welcome US players and have figured out how to pay us promptly (less than a week from request to funds arriving)

Slots Capital, Desert Nights, Black Diamond etc are part of Deck Media and are accredited, but lately they have had some processing issues. I believe everyone gets paid,, but it will take a bit longer as you will find from many recent posts.

I hope this helps.

so, it's basically the same as before the restrictions, just tiny bit harder?

before what? LOL before Black Friday (April 15, 2011), a day in which several online poker sites were seized as a result of United States v. Scheinberg ?

Hmmm that date is coming back

Before they made it illegal to gamble online and banned credit card processors from processing such transactions for american citizens

AFAIK, it is not "illegal to gamble online" for us as USA players, except for places like WA state.

However, you are correct that cc companies are not allowed to legally process transactions from online gambling sites. So there are "challenges" for both sites and players at times including lengthy processing delays.

Country restrictions are common in most online casino sites. However I discovered that when you play at BitCoin Casino, your totally anonymous so you don't have to bother if the site will restrict you from betting at any online casino games.

Yes, I stand corrected. It was the online casinos that are not allowed to accept US players or they would face the consequences.

What "consequesnces"?
No online casinos are based in the USA - and "stop press" the USA does not rule the world - so what could they possibly do to casinos operating from other countries?

Yeah I was thinking the same. Then, I believe it was 2011 or so they arrested the owner of foreign casino upon landing in US.
Another one they arrested in Australlia when he boarded plane of a company that was partially owned by a US company.
They busted casino based out of the Phillipiness as well.

US is acting quite like global police now.
It's not gambling, but for example they had Kim Dotcom arrested in NZ by the NZ SWAT upon orders from US.
Pretty cool, huh? :)
