I am not going to complain as this was my first big win in ages but could have been 5x more. Was at Fallsview Casino this weekend and played a new machine -- fire and ice. Told my husband I wanted to test it first before going max bet. Second spin and the damn machines paid out $436! Would have been over $2100 had I gone max right away. BUT, $436 on a 25 cent bet! Wowie. Then went to some dragon chinese type slot machine and it paid out $80. Great weekend! Only trouble is I had to share with hubby. Damn! Oh well. Got a bottle of Amarone and some t-bone steaks to celebrate.

Hope you all had a lucky weekend as well!

Sounds like you had a good time, I have yet to actually go to a land-based casino myself which is ironic as I've spent ages working in one. I'd have to go to an American one just for the experience.

And I wouldn't beat yourself up over the betsize, the amount of times I've lowered bets and won big, or raised bets and won nothing is comically high. If only there was a way of knowing these things!

Glad you had a good time and great that you had some wins.

Know how it feels too, the day I hit that 5-Reel Wild storm, Not longer after I went into my Nemesis (Immortal Romance)

I said to myself 'Have a few £3 bets, you'll never get this opportunity again'

Did I ? - Nope, Mr 'Play it safe' sticks to minimum bet.

What happens about 10 spins in. . . . . .

GREAT Sarah win.jpg

Serves me right, could and should have been 10x the amount

Another instance in my last visit to land based casino, had had a couple of beers, walking past one of the roulette tables and '33 Black' 'leapt out the wheel' shouting 'back me, back me' diving into my pocket as the ball slowed grabbing the first note that came - £20 and I placed it on the layout.

Ball didn't even touch the sides as the dealer announced '33 Black!' get in £700 quid yes!!!

After the payout for players was completed and the dealer called 'Place your bets please' my mate called me, 'Let's grab a pint' - thinking No way It would happen, I took the 4x£5 chips (dealer had changed note for chips) off '33' - You can guess the rest - fatal!!!!

WTG on a great weekend Barbara :thumbsup:

always thought that if a spin is independant from the last spin then surely the time taken to increase/decrease a bet before the next spin will result in a randomly different spin than what would have occoured if one didn't increase/decrease the bet, just as much as if i hadn't scratched that itchy left nut before clicking spin again i wouldn't of hit the big 1500x stake that appeared shortly after pulling my hand out of my pants.

Nice win though! :D

Am I wrong to assume that it would have paid 5x more? I just thought that if it triggered it triggered regardless of the bet. Here's the kicker. We had a free $25 slot play loaded on to my player's card. I told my husband to pick something and play on it. Well, if any of you know the Dutch you know how frugal they are. Couldn't get the free slot money to download on the game so he said forget it -- I'll play another game. So, we walked away and he went to another machine and of course lost it. I then said it was my turn and as we walked by the slot he picked, I told him I was going to play it seeing as this is what he had picked. Imagine if someone else had sat there !!!! This casino is so busy so it was just pure luck that no one else had sat down. Phew. Not a life altering win but nice enough for a bottle of Amarone, t-bones, hotel stay, dinner, drinks and some money left over yet. I am not greedy so for me this was awesome.

Disagree - in the nicest possible way of course.

No one will truly know how slots decide results, whether accurate guesses or told 'stab in the dark's' - whether a player has played for 10 years or 10 minutes. no one truly 100% knows.

Onto my example the idea of the bigger bets was in my head before I loaded up IR so if this is the case of split second server determined wins it wouldn't have made any difference.

My thoughts on how slots work could be 100% wrong, it could be right, again who knows. However its not a subject I would ever get into, in this thread or on any forum at all wouldn't want the self-inflicted headache!

No Barb, you are correct. Land based slots work differently to online, there are thousands of pre-set cycles and outcomes of which it will not suddenly 'change its mind' because a player has changed their bet size.

I worked 5 years+ in a land based casino and also in the AWP (amusement with prizes/fruit machine) industry for over 10 years on and off so my info is accurate on this one, regardless of the guess work in the post above lol!

Thanks Jon. I was hoping I was wrong but didn't think so. Once the free spins trigger and you have wagered x5 I would think that your payout would be x5. Oh well. Like I said -- not a very greedy person so I am not overly disappointed. Like you, I always play it safe.

Have a good one bud!
