Consultation on use of Credit Cards when Gambling

Of course one shouldn't borrow to gamble.
But does it made any difference if you use your credit card to gamble and your debit card to buy food or vice versa?

Another pointless ban, when the answer is simply educate people to gamble responsibly and lower taxes so that they can play with higher RTP.
2% lower RTP could mean even 2 times higher risk for financial problems and addiction.

As far as I know ALL UK based credit cards count gambling transactions as cash advances so you would be crazy to use a credit card for that anyway, given the transaction cost and high interest often in the 20-30% APR regions but TBH I agree that they should be banned for gaming for that reason more than the actual problem gamber aspect.

I confess a decade or more ago I used to do it but looking back now I was an idiot, much wiser now :)

Any seasoned gambler would put food on the CC and casino on the debit card to avoid such charges anyway.

Seems a back track move. Pretty sure credit for gambling was a massive "no-no" both when I first started playing online and also when I worked in land based casino.

Talking few years back but confident it was banned and only debit cards were allowed.

Yeah it was, you had to do it via a 3rd party ATM type machine then go to the cashdesk, in my land based casino back then as it was the only way round it.

If I remember rightly it worked out to about £45 charge per £1000 and that was on top of your actual CC charges.
