I'm watching CNN and they just had a brief story about how 18 people were arrested for sports gambling at the Borgata in Atlantic City. They said 5 Borgata employees and 5 mob-type people from PA were among those arrested and they're still looking for more.

Where was I when they made gambling illegal in Atlantic City? :D

Oh ffs!!

Edit: Here's a bit more on it... But... I guess we'll have to wait to see how the 'mob' is implicated in this...

ATLANTIC CITY -- An illegal sports gambling ring run out of a high-stakes poker room in an Atlantic City casino was busted Wednesday and 23 people were charged, including four with mob ties.

The four affiliated with the Philadelphia mob appeared to be the ringleaders, with six employees of the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa also among those arrested, state Attorney General Anne Milgram said.

Authorities said Andrew Micali, 32, of Ventnor, was the organizer.

"They sought to escape detection by enlisting casino employees in their crimes," Milgram said. "I'm pleased to say they greatly underestimated our vigilance and determination to keep organized crime out of Atlantic City casinos."

Milgram said they followed the money in the case from the casino to wire rooms in Philadelphia.

Most of the men were charged with promoting gambling or money laundering.

Authorities said the Borgata cooperated .....

A state licensed Tropicana employee was involved too. They have sports betting at the casinos but this was underground stuff
