Why don't the online casinos close down their sites until the coronavirus pandemic ends? While many countries are in lockdown millions of people are turning to online casinos like myself and wasting thousands of pounds, dollars whatever currency it is where you live because we are bored and cannot go out to spend our money on other things such as clothes, etc. I am living in the UK and all casinos, bingo halls, betting shops have closed so I cannot see why the online ones cant as well.

The purpose of isolation is to curtail face-to-face infection, not to obstruct commerce or businesses where unnecessary. The last time I read up, you cannot catch COVID-19 through an internet connection.

Closing them down would have an adverse affect on many of those employed by these operations. Also the pandemic is not actually affecting the operation of online casinos, so closing them down would not achieve anything as far as this pandemic goes.

However, if you are worried, there is nothing stopping people using services such as BetBlocker and GamStop. Why should those who enjoy playing at casinos online be affected by the few that are unable to control their gambling?

Indeed, the CEO of GamStop is suggesting that vulnerable players take advantage of the service GamStop provides. More information here: GamStop in Warning to Vulnerable Customers

Why should they? The customers do not interact with casino staff face to face, there are no reason why online casinos should close.

Comparing it to bingo halls and betting shops is a mute point. If you lose more than you can afford and feels it turning into an issue, then use the relevant tools to exclude yourself.

Of course, you cannot catch it over the internet. I am just concerned about the people that have been laid off from work due to the Coronavirus and probably most of them are trying to turn whatever amount of savings into more by turning to online casinos and gambling the money hoping to make a profit.

I very much doubt most people are doing what you are suggesting tbh.

I'm almost certain casinos are thriving off the back off this, whilst people still have the money to spend.

This a unexpected W for them as most people have been sidelined with disposable income, even if not originally meant purely for gambling. Casinos saying they're toiling because of this I take with a pinch of salt

cause we are grown ups....and if you can’t resist then follow the self help guidance on every legit casino. Why should those with self control suffer?

I have had a generic message from many casinos about responsible gaming during covid.

Certain streamers like Chipmonkz slots are cashing in on the pandemic, he has upped his content to almost 3 videos a day with the constant check out the casinos I’m playing today.
These streamers will go to any lengths to cash in, purely morally vacant.

Thats because he's a scummy streamer, decent ones wouldn't do that.

Weather isn’t bad today.
Anyhow off to Sainsbury’s I go for essential goods.
Edit: I got 2 litres of Dr Pepper, 18 cans lager,
Also pizza dough and ingredients for my ‘cooking whilst avoiding corona with playford post later’
A new hosepipe and some bits for my daughter tomorrow.
All essentials as I’m sure you can see..

Though I have been tempted to do a couple of streams over the past few weeks, I decided not to do these. More people are now at home than usual (I stream during the day) so audience figures will naturally increase.

I am fully aware that watching these streams may well result in the temptation to put a few pennies in yourself (any streamer denying this is not telling the truth) which is OK during normal times. But in these times where quite a few people are forced to be off work (without or on reduced pay), I don't think it is morally correct to potentially tempt those people into gambling.

True but if they are watching streams they are already thinking about gambling.

You play at normal stakes so people who watch will see you win or lose but won't see crazy £20 bets that pay thousands and think maybe i can do that.

Personally i think if you wanted to stream sensibly you should . Not that i watch streams.

Agree.
Also, im guessing some people probably watch streams instead of gambling for themselves.

Each to their own and I am certainly not saying that other streamers should follow what I am doing.
