Hi Guys,

First time posting so apologies if i am posting in the wrong area, but i really need some help.
I am having real problems with Casumo and source of wealth.
I have been through the process about 2-3 months ago with no problems.
I recently withdrew and depositied more than usual (actually was up about £2k). I requested a withdrawal on 11th Feb.
5 days later i was slapped with a verification SOW. Okay so i sent the docs as requested (letter from employer confirming salary, Drivers license and most recent payslip).
They then asked me for outgoings etc. I told them i dont have any regular outgoings (i live with my parents twice a week as away with work a lot). I then was asked to provide my parents rental or mortgage agreement and proof that utility bills were in their names. I have told them i was never going to do that.
Its now the 25th Feb and i have heard nothing.
So i went on to live chat just now and spoke to Crispin.
See the attached files.
He/she is basically saying that i cant withdraw funds even when i request my account to be closed until the process is complete.
I cant complete any more than i already have and i will not provide them with any other person details, let alone my families.
I have private messaged @CasumoLouis (not sure if im supposed too) because i have £1k withdrawal still locked and i cant get it. Yet i am still able to deposit as much as i like.
This is really unfair and i just want my money.

Any suggestions?

Casumos requests like this are far too intrusive. They have no right whatsoever to ask for third party documents, and I would argue it's a breach of the GDPR, in that they have no consent to process them from the data subject. Funnily enough casumo failed to comment on that last time too.
I just cant give them what they are asking.
I guess i will never get my winnings at this rate. They reversed my locked withdrawal when asking for verification so i locked again, its still locked (fine by me) but i am being told that unless i complete the process ill never get the money. Closed account or not :(

Even if the parents consented it would still possibly be a breach as, when money’s being held to ransom, I doubt many would think the consent was ‘freely’ given

Here is the last comms i had from them....
Sorry to hear you have had the same shit I endured - here's my thread. I have since been locked out of my Casumo account after depositing over 100k in 3 years and despite sorting the SoW out eventually, they then demanded out of the blue proof of affordability for months that occurred nearly 3 years ago. At that point I gave up and reported them to the UKGC as it was IMO unreasonable and beyond the requirements for a casino that had happily let me deposit large amounts for 2.5 years AFTER that period in question.

Your Input Please - The ordeal of online gambling, Casumo.

Fed up of this bullshit from Maltese Casinos.

Shut your account. At that point Casino has to either report you to the relevant official department for suspected money laundering (HM Customs and Excise) - which 100% they definitely will not for these amounts. Or they have to pay you. The most they can hang on to the funds in this case is 28 days awaiting a response from them. The standard time frame is 14 days.

At this point you either get arrested for money laundering or they have to give you your money. Ill leave it with you which is most likely here.

Obviously you cannot deposit there again if you do not supply the documents they require.

And thats it.

And here we have relevant section from handbook.

Requirements for remote casinos

6.99 Where remote casino operators are unable to complete or apply the required CDD measures115 in relation to a particular customer at the point the CDD threshold for transactions116 is reached, and are accordingly required to cease transactions or terminate the business relationship with the customer117, they should adopt the following procedure: • at the point where the threshold is reached, remote casino operators should put all funds owed to the customer into an account (or equivalent) from which no withdrawals can be made • further deposits can be made to that account as long as they too are locked into it until CDD is completed • bets can be made from the account, again providing any winnings are locked until CDD is completed 110 Regulation 39(6). 111 Regulation 39(7). 112 Regulation 39(8). 113 Regulation 31. 114 Regulation 31(2). 115 These measures are discussed in paragraphs 6.8 to 6.17. 116 See paragraphs 6.3 to 6.5. 117 In accordance with regulation 31(1). 52 • once CDD is completed, the account can be unlocked and business continue as normal • if CDD cannot be completed, then the operator must proceed in line with regulation 31(1)(c) and terminate the existing business relationship with the customer • if funds are to be repaid, then the amount repaid should consist of all funds owed to the customer at the point that the threshold was reached, plus all deposits made at that point and thereafter • funds should be refunded back to the originating account, and: o there should be appropriate risk mitigation o where it is suspected that the funds are the proceeds of crime, remote casino operators should submit SARs or seek a defence (appropriate consent) before refunding any of the funds • if the refund is to be completed back to another account (whether partially or completely): o risk assessment must be done that should take into account information such as:  multiple destinations – is the customer requesting that the money be sent to several bank accounts?  high risk destination – is the customer requesting that the money be returned to a country where there is a significant money laundering or terrorist financing concern?  above €2,000 – is the amount above the threshold for CDD? o there should be appropriate risk mitigation o where it is known or suspected that the funds are the proceeds of crime, remote casino operators should submit SARs or seek a defence (appropriate consent) before refunding any of the funds • there should be ongoing monitoring of the account and, if necessary, reporting of findings via relevant fraud monitoring services in the public and private sector. 6.100 The customer should be made fully aware of the procedures adopted by the remote casino operator when they first register with the operator so that there is no misunderstanding at a later stage.

You read my thread on yako casino?
they are not all bad and I’m pretty ruthless with my opinion

I had no issues with it. Payslips and historic bank statements and bobs your uncle

Yeah, it's simple enough if you are PAYE with one source of income.

When you receive up to 20-odd payments a month in dribs and drabs from many sources, are self-employed, do your own accounts and don't get P60's etc. each year it's a sheer bastard.

Well my past 7 years are all payments from offshore work so probably why it wasn’t a problem.
It’s flawed clearly as many affiliates earn tons more than me for example, or business owners but they just don’t have the regular income I guess.

Have you deposited a drastic amount with them? (I'm not asking for particulars or a figure at all) but what i mean is it large amount you have deposited lately?
Hi,
More than usual. However I won £3k on a £200 deposit. Withdrew the £3k and whilst waiting deposited a further £1k. This is how I gamble. I deposit what i can afford, if i win i lock the withdrawal and then continue to deposit no greater than my withdrawal.
So yes in this case my deposits were more than my usual and more than i would deposit but because i won the previous week and was waiting for winnings i deposited more

Thanks for your help.
I certainly am not laundering money. I work hard and spend what I can afford. If I win I spend some more.
Just they are very convincing when they say regardless of closing my account they will not release funds until the sow process is complete.
IRS site like Casinomeister that help people like me.
So thank you

They simply aren't allowed to keep your withdrawal hostage if you don't complete a SOW. They have to return it. If @CasumoLouis doesn't get back to you in a couple of days and support keeps insisting you won't get your money in case you close the account just start a PAB here.

It's appalling they still let you deposit tho, no SOW issues there I guess?

with respect that's a terrible idea and opens the doors to all sorts of headaches
I try to look as the money as mine, only once it hits my bank acct

gl regardless
How is that a terrible idea?
That's the whole point of locking a withdrawal?
I've already lost the amount I was prepared too but when you win and lock a withdrawal as far as I'm concerned that's good as in my bank. I've never had to doubt it in the past. If I was worried about the safety of my money I wouldn't dare deposit in the first place.
Bank are regulated for the same reasons and I'm sure you have your salary for pension or other income paid into one.
Search for the same issues with fraudulent activity on a bank, some people get locked out for months while being investigated with no access to monies.
