I had a win off 900 pound a few weeks back withdrawed waited few days then got email asking to confirm card and send bank statement to which I did. Then about week later I get an email saying they have shut my account and confiscated my winnings. They say this is due to having 2 accounts at the same address which is the case one in my partners name and one in my name. But here is the thing we have had those accounts for over 4 years now and in that time they have allowed me and my partner to deposit and make smaller withdrawels and said nothing about it. But as soon as I win quite big they wanna then use that term against me surley this is a unfair way to use there terms. I understand the term but they should not be picking and choosing when they wanna use that term and only use it when it suits then just to get outta of paying a big win i dont think its very fair. Why have they been ok with for the last 4 years with 2 accounts but suddenly I win big and they do this. Really annoyed and upset they have done this. I'm sure they would not of closed my account if I was depositing large amounts and losing it.

A lot of the casinos will have that rule, unfortunately. Difficult to get around if more than one person in the household plays; good casinos will generally let it pass - they have sophisticated enough systems to recognise the different play-styles of each player.

If I were you, I'd not post anything more in the forum, and file a PAB - see "Submit Complaint" up there.

We had 2 Casumo accounts in our household for about the same period (one now as one's been closed) - think we ran it by them, i'll check email, at the start and they said it's fine, just don't play at the same time as it'll flag on the system etc.

I'd also add - if you've both been playing for several years, with different deposit methods, and had cashouts in that time, you've got a good argument as to why they should pay out that winning. Sure, close your account after if they want to, but as long as the play is legit...

This is it. The problem comes in when you realise you don't always ask the people you live with whether they're registered at the same sites as you!

They asked bank statement and after that closed accounts, first thing to come in mind that was it joint account by you and your partner? That's it's not really accepted to use anything else than sole owned payment methods and funds. If not, closing account only because of same address (without seeing that it looks quite clear that same person is operating with both) is weird and not usually happen.

If you only now got asked your bank statement but have been using it for payments for years, it's also weird that they only ask it for now or of course they don't need to if you haven't deposit over 2000 eur with that.

Anyway, only same address without anything else, sounds really weird, maybe there are some other reasoning behind their decision as well.

This is why I'd suggest a PAB on this one. Especially given Casumo's recent, uh, "changes".

That would be easy solution or if used joint account, then probably waste of time. Can't see even Casumos current fckups extend to confiscating amount of £900 only due to same address without anything else and it happening once providing bank statement.

Well Casumo should be ashamed of themselves. All I hear is negativity from this place. Get them unaccredited, get players away from playing at this joke shop. Appalling behavior

Maybe the decision was made a new member who does the work according to the book? Not keen to compare gameplay, activity, deposit/bonus ratio on both individual accounts? From there you can already see if its a different person or not, and you as a casino can from there decide if you want to allow it. Or that you allow it under specific terms, e.g. one account will not be eligible for bonus offers.

Also, those in a household who do gamble on individual accounts at the same casino, a kind advice: Give the casino a heads-up / ask for permission to do so. Just to avoid hassle in the future.

That might be something they don't like if it looks in statement that your gambling is funded by 3rd party. Hope you get it sorted and like Jan above said, it's good to advise casino about two accounts from family and then use some payment method which is solely yours and where you don't get much 3rd party transfers, it's painful start to send proofs of all these transactions when they want your SOW.

What you describe above, make it looks pretty clear when you only see bank statement that somebody else is funding your gambling as you even get your income to other account. Here also can be seen from casinos reply that you were using bonus funds what you probably got with your deposit so it looks even more that 3rd party funded your account to benefit from bonus available on your account.

That sounds good in Theory.

But how do you approach the fact that many would not know if someone else in a house has an account.

For instance my boy knows i gamble. I also know he gambles. But he would have no idea what sites i sign up to. I would never want him to know how many different sites i may have an account at.

Same as i have no idea what sites he uses. Think it is only a couple of bookies sites he has accounts at but already we have a problem as i probably have opened an account at them all at some point.

Point being many gamblers would not tell others especially kids who they gamble with and by how much. And pretty sure my boy would not go hey dad i just signed up at Videoslots and All British.

So just out of curiosity and this is not anything against your casino's merely the fact you took time to post.

What do you do when several members of a household open up accounts with your casino and play. If they hit big wins would they lose wins. I personally think that maybe when online gambling started it was an okay term. But it has got so huge now that anyone that wants to gamble does it online where before they would go to bookies or casinos as that was all there was.

So i would imagine that these days there must be many households where several generations gamble and at same sites completely unaware others are playing at same sites.

Thanks for reply. I understand the sow but how can it be a third party person money. It's my money which he is giving to me to play with. I understand if it was not my money and he was gifting it to me but that's not the case. Also they have been happy for years letting me deposit and make smaller withdrawels but now I win a noticable sum they wanna use it against me. It's just not fair or right in my opinion I think its an unfair use of the terms just to get out of paying. I also had half bonus and half cash so can I get least 450 back.

I asked My partner and he said he has not used his account since February when they processed his withdrawal of a smaller sum. We have separate cards and bank accounts. I might just look at reviews on casino in future and if they are using dirty tactics to get out of paying then I give them a wide birth. Not worth the hassle.

If you partner transfer you money and you use it to gamble, it's 3rd party transfer to your account and if you use it to gamble right away, it really looks that it's 3rd party funded gambling (including bonus abuse aspect in this case).

We can really only guess and assume here without having same information and documents than casino have. So it was just one assumption that if your statement only shows transfers from 3rd party (was it partner or not but that somebody transfer to you money to gamble) it rings bells as all players should only use own funds and payment methods and if you see statement where all money is 3rd party transfers, it can really look that somebody else is funding your playing and especially in this case where there was bonus available on your account.

Best you can do is try to first sort this out with casino by explaining things for them and possibly provide some further documents they might request as 3rd party money is always raising AML risk and impersonating risk. If you don't get anywhere, you can use PAB service to get help from Casinomeister PAB team who review your case with casino and give their fair opinion is casino acting right or not (just make sure you don't post about issue to any forums, including this if you have PAB in process), link below, hope you don't need it but if you don't get anywhere with casino and feel that you are right in this, with PAB you get fair opinion:

Ok thank you for your help. Also how do apporch the casino about this as they are saying the reason for closing and confiscating my winnings is cause what I have already eluded to. They said nothing about sow checks. Plus they are impossible to talk to take ages to reply or dont bother half the time hard to get anything resolved with them.

Usually casinos don't go too much all details in their decision, they gave some terms and conditions which are violated and give them right to do what they do. Just trying to guess why they were so tough in their decision (like some mentioned here, it's not unheard that people from same family are playing) and your statement really can look for person who see it that your gambling is done with other persons money to take advantage about bonus which was available on account.

When you see this kind of transaction pattern in bank statement and bonus is used, it just looks that exactly 3rd party funded bonus abuse.

All you can do is try to speak with them and explain everything and you can also try to make PAB but with this information, it really can look like i described above when they review your statement and activity.

Your account history is also something they can see and we have no idea, how active you've been, how much bonuses you been using etc... help them make puzzle together and they see what they see, they can't know anything but facts they have front of their eyes and like explained, it can look bit dodgy.

To be fair, nothing mate, as long as there is no bonuses involved.

Secondly if there is, you analyze the gameplay in depth. From there you find your answers to make a decision.

Thanks for answering Jan.

Good to hear you would not do anything if 2 people played normally from same house hold.

I think it would be pretty bad for any casino to use the more than one household rule to confiscate winnings from just your average genuine player. As like i said a lot of people would have no idea whether anyone in household is signed up to same casino.
