Ladies and gents, to make it little bit more easier.... Just pick anything from the calendar and post it in the thread :)

This should be easy and fun, not to much hassle.

PM me for any additional questions...

Hey fun promo!

It just made me look up the meaning of my name for the first time ever.

My first name is Jenn and it means different things. But Ill go with american since Im from North America.

So the meaning for my name is someone who is fair. Also, white wave (whatever that means)

Its also in relation to King Arthurs Queen Guinevere

Also:

People with this name have a deep inner desire to use their abilities in leadership, and to have personal independence. They would rather focus on large, important issues, and delegate the details.

And:

People with this name tend to be passionate, compassionate, intuitive, romantic, and to have magnetic personalities. They are usually humanitarian, broadminded and generous, and tend to follow professions where they can serve humanity. Because they are so affectionate and giving, they may be imposed on. They are romantic and easily fall in love, but may be easily hurt and are sometimes quick-tempered.

The above is kind of false. Cause Im not really a romantic, nor do I fall in love easily or easily hurt.

But some is true too. Because I consider myself to be a humanitarian, broadminded and generous

Hi Casumo and all meisters)This very interesting promo)
My name is Alexandr(short - Sasha). This is very popular name in Russia and Eastern Europe countries. It's mean:
Latinized form of the Greek name Αλεξανδρος (Alexandros), which meant "defending men" from Greek αλεξω (alexo) "to defend, help" and ανηρ (aner) "man" (genitive ανδρος). In Greek mythology this was another name of the hero Paris, and it also belongs to several characters in the New Testament. However, the most famous bearer was Alexander the Great, King of Macedon. In the 4th century BC he built a huge empire out of Greece, Egypt, Persia, and parts of India. Due to his fame, and later medieval tales involving him, use of his name spread throughout Europe.
Many famous people have had such a name:
The name has been used by kings of Scotland, Poland and Yugoslavia, emperors of Russia, and eight popes. Other notable bearers include English poet Alexander Pope (1688-1744), American statesman Alexander Hamilton (1755-1804), Scottish-Canadian explorer Sir Alexander MacKenzie (1764-1820), Russian poet Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837), and Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922), the Scottish-Canadian-American inventor of the telephone.

Haha cool promo.. :)

Well I thought I would post some info on my middle name, the name that is added on your birth cert in The Netherlands.
So my middle name is WILHELMUS which means Strong Helmet in Teutonic.
The Female version would be something like WILLEMIJN.

Also Wilhelmus is often related to the Dutch national anthem as it tells a bit of the struggle Willem van Oranje (William of Orange) had when having to choose between serving the king of Spain OR the Dutch crown and it's people.

In other languages my middle name might be known as follows:

  • German: Wilhelm
  • English: William
  • Swedish: Vilhelm
  • Welsh: Gwillym
  • Spanish: Guillermo
  • Irish: Liam
  • French: Guillaume

I am proud to have this as one of my middle names.
It is a nice name and it has some history attached to it.

Thanks for the cool promo Casumo.

Saint Nikolaos (Santa Claus in USA) (6th December) is the common name for Nikolaos of Myra, a saint and Bishop of Myra (in Lycia, part of modern-day Turkey). Because of the many miracles attributed to his intercession, he is also known as Nikolaos the Wonderworker. He had a reputation for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, and thus became the model for Santa Claus, whose English name comes from the Dutch Sinterklaas. :)

Pavel

Since many posts here are very interesting to read, I figured I might share one from our ambassador-team as well, without participating in the raffle obviously. My name is Pavel, a very common name in Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, and maybe even somewhere else. I don´t know much about it, else then the fact that both my biological father, his father, and even my step father all share this name with me. This is not intended or planned from what I know, it just somehow ended up this way and I find it quite funny :)

If you're Finnish you might get a chuckle - and perhaps even otherwise.

Big-time pet lover here, what with all my fur babies. Granted, I don't celebrate their birthdays or national holidays but they are incredibly important to me, each and every one.

They're always named after gods and mythological creatures.
When we got our Karjalankarhukoira (what a mouthful eh? Just say 'Karelian Bear Dog) we followed pattern and named her Kaali - after the goddess of destruction Kali- but because she's the Finnish national dog, we wanted to make her name something Finnish as well, so added the double A.

If you're not Finnish, it just looks like an interesting spelling. If you're Finnish (and I belong to a Karelain Bear Dog group with many Finnish members), it means something completely different, and I'm always asked if I'm aware what 'kaali' means.

Yes. It's the Finnish word for cabbage. :)

Our little cabbage-head/goddess of destruction, then and now. :)

kaali.jpg

There's an insane amount of holidays dedicated to your pet varying around the world - but I just make sure I show them loving every day. :)

Fun and educational promo, I like it!

My first name is Jesper, which is a "nordicization" of the English name Jasper, which in turn originates from the Dutch name Kasper. The name means "treasurer" in Persian.

It's a fairly common first name in Sweden, and many famous people carry the name (Jesper Parnevik, one of Sweden's most famous golfers, for instance).

Maybe we should have a promo with one of these days for all pet-lovers out there, any day you would recommend? Adorable dogs by the way!

April 11th is Naitional Pet Day this side along with April being National Pet Month in in the UK

and thanks ;)

Adorable dogs I hear you say? Well, would my pugs count? I hasten to add they are both cuddled up on me now and share the enjoyment and stress of playing online slots - they normally wake up when I swear at the pc when I get a lousy bonus round!
