There is an interesting new Casino in town called Casinorip that has skill based and casino games where players can play each other at Blackjack etc for cash.

Now to ensure players can always get a game the Casino uses bots and a full explanation can be found here;

http://www.casinorip.com/instructions/mpPokerDice/botsGuide.shtml;jsessionid=3u5F4Q8m2U7V5BqqZNclXg**[/URL]

 hope that works

Now if you remember Casinos have been found recently confiscating players winnings and banning them under the pretense of bot use, I wonder how that argument sits now when an online Casino openly sanctions its own use of bots?

Are Casinorip wrong to offer bot opponents or is it ok for Casinos to offer bot opponents but ban players for using bots?
I should say that so far I don't know of Casinorip confiscating winnings or banning players for bot play but surely they would find it very hard to justify.

What are your thoughts?

I have only spent a little time at this Casino but so far all seems ok though on hi lo after building up my balance the software became slower and slower and results started going against me. Could easily be coincidence but if it happens repeatedly then obviously time to run away.

EDIT:
OK the link did not work, here is what they have to say.

Bots Guide

Welcome to the Bot Family!
Our robot ('bot' for short) players are online 24/7 in the new game lobby to play you for free or for real money stakes. We have a wide variety of Bot players online, all of them unique and offering a revolutionary challenge to anyone wishing to learn, to play, to develop their strategy or to hit the jackpot!

Why have Bot players?
We're offering you Bot players as an alternative to playing against people for free or for real money stakes. Available online 24/7 our Bot players can play several hundred games, simultaneously. Why wait to get your game when you can play against a Bot on demand 24/7. Playing bots is also an excellent way of improving your game. Take ProBot on and think carefully about the moves that he makes.

How to spot a Bot?
You'll find all our Bot players clearly identified with a unique logo next to their username. The logo appears as a robot's head, different to all other players online. You'll also note that Bot players are super-fast in making their moves. You'll never find a real person able to move as quickly as a Bot player so rest assured it's patently obvious you're playing against a Bot. You may even find our Bot's playing each other so why not pop in and watch them play?

Play Bots for Real Money!
Our Bot players are designed to provide opposition for players of all abilities. We have Bots of various strengths who will accept challenges from players in their rating band or below for money.

Four very different Bots to play against!
We have four different bots available, each with different features. For example, can you beat ProBot? The exciting opportunity afforded by our ProBot is to test your skills absolutely free or for real money stakes against the equivalent of a world-class player. ProBot is the smartest bot player we have available. Can you beat him?

Please note, Bots are (perhaps unsurprisingly!) programmed not to lose too much money to any one player, so if you're much better than a Bot he'll stop playing you eventually. A bot may also refuse a challenge if he has run out of money!

What stakes do they play for?
This depends on the game in question. Our BeginnerBot plays only free games, whilst ProBot will play for high stakes. ProBot is better at some games than others however so doesn't play all games for the same stakes.

How to play a Bot?
Our Bot players only respond to direct challenges. You'll need to challenge them directly by adding them to your friends list or clicking on their names in the game lobby, or by choosing them in the drop-down list when you create a table.

Fairplay guaranteed
The Bots access the game servers just like any other player. Our random number generator and Bot accounts are all audited by external accountants.

Talk to our Bots!
You can even chat to our Bot players! Sounds crazy, but during games or by direct messaging you can chat online to our Bot's. Why not try it out? Do be warned, their game-playing skills will generally be better than their conversational skills!

Where did they come from?
Our family of Bots have been developed by world-class software engineers led by an expert with a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. We're proud to be one of the only sites in the world offering transparent Bot opponents for free or for real money play.

Interesting read Rusty. I have actually played at a skill game site that used bots when there were not enough "real" players to fill the tables.

Imo, it is the height of hypocrisy for casino's to use the bot rule to deny winnings to a player, as most mg's use autoplay.

The word thievery comes to mind.

Bots are a totally different breed compared to autoplay..

Very true though Mercy is right about denial of winnings being wrong when autoplay has been used.

The very interesting part of this is that the bots here are designed to beat the player in marginal skill games such as tournament blackjack etc

The fact is you do not have to play against a bot so in that sense I see no problem but I wonder what the Casino would do if they detected a player using a bot? Deny his/her winnings probably.

Haha just played poker dice against a bot and it sure was lucky, out rolling me every game ;)

Play other players or better still stay well clear as this is another site that attempts to mislead people the site is licensed by the UK gambling commission when in fact it is Alderney.
Also they say they are owned by a big respectable European company :eek2:, I missed that one lol

I couldn't win against the bots either:eek:

Me thinks online gambling is rigged from the get go. It's play at your own risk. I have changed my mindset 100 percent.I never expect to win, if I do great, but to expect otherwise just leads to anger and disappointment.

It makes my playing experience much more enjoyable;)

Rusty, you don't know how much I miss the "gambling is rigged" threads by you:D
