hi cm-folks,

I got a promotion email today including an Easter bonuscode.
I tried to deposit and using the code until I realized that Neteller is not available for the campaign

system tells me: This promotion is not valid for this payment option. Please try another payment method.

The chat person told me that some promotions are not valid for payments with Neteller or Skrill.
Why are they doing that? What is so bad on e-wallets? Isn't money money?

I agree, why are they doing that? I only use neteller at every Casino. I took a bonus at Casino Cruise a few weeks ago and luckily I checked the terms before I played my funds and you can't use Neteller for the Bonus. I spoke to live chat to remove the bonus. Too bad if I kept on playing and won with the bonus it would not be paid because of using Neteller.

I better get in the habit of reading terms before accepting any bonus. lol

There are other casinos doing this, in fact it has been going on for years (Ladbrokes were anti web wallets from the start).

I have no access to inside information but I would guess incidences of fraud are higher with web wallets. Money laundering regulations are strict and the proceeds of crime could be transferred about web wallets easily.

I have no problem with casinos restricting or charging for certain deposit/withdrawal methods. I do have a problem when the restriction impacts negatively on the players in another, unfair, way.

For example betspin have a similar rule, no bonuses with neteller/skrill. OK fair enough but the other deposit method for UK players is debit/credit card which carries an unfair and over the top 2.5% uncapped deposit fee. Now if you want to take part in a promotion there they are forcing you to pay this fee. I realise there is another method listed "Paysafe" but there are no outlets near me and when I go on the paysafe website you cant just buy from the site.

In casino rooms case here they have the unfortunate currency conversion problem where they charge my deposit method in EURO despite me having a GBP skrill account and a GBP casino room account. It leads to annoying fees constantly. However if I was forced to deposit via debit card it would be even worse as I would get even worse currency conversion rates from my bank plus be charged a fee for doing it, both on deposit and withdrawal.

No thank you.

It probably depends on what deal they have with the payment provider. If ewallets are more expensive then they can't afford giving that many bonuses I guess. At least it's one reason.

Are you saying that Casino Cruise are giving you the bonus if you deposit using an ewallet, even though you're not allowed to use it, and you won't get paid?:eek2:
If they are doing that then I have to wonder why there aren't more complaints. Do people really play there?

fun4all what did you mean by Betspin having that rule? Is that new? I used ewallet there and I got the bonus.

Yes I have deposited using Neteller thinking I'll take the bonus offer and my bonus was added. Luckily I thought I better read the terms to see what games are restricted etc and came across as neteller not allowed to use bonus.

Well I am no expert to online gambling, only been here for nearly a year lol

Anyway I spoke to live chat and asked them why I was allowed a bonus as I used Neteller and they told me that they don't know what method of payment I am using when I deposit. I mean really, luckily I got them to remove the bonus.

Casino Cruise is not a bad Casino just a bit sneaky I think. lol

If they can't do like other casinos do, and tell when you make a deposit, then yes, they are bad.

How I hate all of these idiotic rules, set up to protect the casino, but not doing anything to help the normal the player from making a mistake at the same time.

Now this thread was about Casinoroom though, but they at least stopped their customers from depositing. Well done!

I think you are being way too nice here mina. First of all not allowing the bonus with neteller deposits in the terms but crediting it when you deposit with neteller is downright predatory. The person cannot win. If they attempt to cash out a win they will just have deposit returned and terms cited. Total freeroll for casino cruise. Lets look again at what live chat told you

It is lucky for them someone has not pulled them up for that in the UK. It must fall foul of some regulation. You are being far nicer about it than I am, I think its terrible.

I lost my $50 deposit there anyway. I am just a bit clueless and try to read a lot about different Casinos, complaints, terms etc

I am still on my learners about online Casinos lol This happened to me about three weeks ago and I really didn't care but was disappointed as I only had my last money I could deposit out of my budget on that day and I thought I haven't played at Casino Cruise for a while so I'll give it a go and that's that.
:)

Yep well props for spotting that term before starting play, saved yourself a lot of hassle there . Any other questions this is the place to ask.

And skyvegas have removed ewallets all together. Closest thing to it now is paypal. Other than that its ye olde debit/cred card for them.

How about Ecopayz, seems like it's fairly widespread and not excluded at many casinos?

I mean seriously I would never consider using my cards in an online-casino. Far too complicated - I like to have everything in one place, like the wallets and if I'm broke that's it.

MightyDuck, thank you for starting the thread and thanks to everyone for their input, we decided to restrict some bonuses to certain options in which we are able to get more information on the origin of funds through electronic verification and background processes. We want to encourage our customers to use other payment options, we offer multi currency, so we charge GBP for GBP and EUR for EUR for Visa and MasterCard and we currently cover the fees for deposits and cashouts. We currently support EUR with Skrill and EUR/GBP with Neteller.

fun4all is right when he points out “fraud are higher with web wallets. Money laundering regulations are strict and the proceeds of crime could be transferred about web wallets easily”, security is very important to us.

I find that a little strange though. I have always since I first started to play used Neteller. I have always been forced to verify myself and prove I'm not a fraudster. Why is that different at your casino? Are you not asking people to verify themselves when they cash out?

I haven't signed up at your casino and now I know you don't want me to either. Sad but true. Or maybe you want me too but you've just told me why I shouldn't :)

I also have a Neteller account, I like ewallets and I’m verified. I’m not saying that fraud is solely present on ewallets, nor saying that we don’t like customers using ewallets. As a matter of fact you can use our bonuses for first deposit and 3 subsequent reloads and it’s not all promos that have been disabled. We can do the due diligence check on your account and given you pass the verification we may also whitelist if absolutely necessary. We are making these changes in an effort to keep costs under control (ewallet fees are extremely high for us and we cover them) but we also want to cut a certain type of abuse and enforce stronger AML policies.

Thanks for that reply:thumbsup:
It sounded better. Also my view that costs using ewallets had something to do with it too:)

Who knows. Maybe one day I knock on your door too.
