I didn't want this to go to the political rant section because I didn't think I was ranting, but maybe that is where I should have put it. I felt the same way as you do in 2008. If you feel as strongly as I do then you have to vote with your feet and change the things you can, work with what you have been dealt with and make the best of it. Otherwise it is more of the same failing policies.
