Canadian Banks refusing gambling winnings

Hi Brian. I had the same issue with Instadebit. They refused to even reply except to say my account was blocked. I went on their website and went on live chat and I was able to create a new account with a different email address. Their live chat is much more helpful.

Why haven't you got an Ecopayz card yet?

Good question. I should look into it. I only started gambling in European casinos in earnest in late October and PaySafe seemed more secure despite the fees. My bankruptcy period ends in two months and I'm hoping my bank will allow me to have a credit card with a fixed amount on it.

I went on live chat with Instadebit but it's still blocked despite them saying they removed it. I should talk to them again.

Ecopayz is more widely accepted then Instadebit. Both are good choices though. The thing I love about Ecopayz is once you load your card there are no fees to deposit or withdraw from casino. Should you have a big win (not ever had that problem) you will pay steep charges to withdraw via ATM or to your bank. But it's secure and it's quick. Instadebit is great as it is only $1.95 no matter how much you are withdrawing to your bank or how much you are depositing at the casino. Yeah -- I did have quite an ordeal with Instadebit but now that's it working I do like it.

It is getting more and more sketchy trying to do bank transfers. I am avoiding casinos that do not have Ecopayz or Instadebit because of it. I also found out though that you can use your Ecopayz as a Mastercard credit card but there is a fee involved. You just have to make sure the casino will withdraw back to Mastercard. Trada Casino have found a way around the banks so that is also a good option of you are looking for somewhere else to play so you could use your Eco card to deposit and withdraw back to the bank with no fees involved.

This could be why Instadebit don't want to unblock your account. Similar things happen here in the UK, nothing to do with casinos or gambling, but if there is a bankruptcy showing on someone's credit file, it can sometimes lead to refusals that don't make sense, such as where there is no credit facility involved. An example is that a bankrupt cannot even get a bank account that has no possibility of being overdrawn from some banks, but can at others. The ones that say no tend to offer a vague explanation and direct the applicant to the credit reference agency they used. It has been said that this is not because the customer might not be able to pay back anything, but because a bankrupt is a loss making customer because the bank CANNOT sell them any of the more profitable products, such as credit cards and overdrafts, until they are discharged from bankruptcy.

In your case, it might be worth testing this theory by trying again at Instadebit in, say 4 months - time for your bankruptcy to end, and for this information to spread to the credit reference agencies and other datasets.

I received a mail from trada saying that bank transfers are now accepted with their new option called megatransfer. Anyone knows what they were talking about? I dont even bother playing online anymore since winning is alreadt hard enough... I wont be annoyed with problematic bank transfers.

its basically a bank transfer to your account but with a new name instead of their old one because that was raising red flags.

I cashed out $380 on Thursday evening of last week. So 6 business days thus far and no money.

Will update when it either gets refused or accepted

Let us know which Casino and the Bank you are withdrawing from Lockinlove.....thanks! :)

I have more I would like to say here, but I have to tell you the Euro card has been great here. Cost me way less than the bank and atm withdrawals would have. Everywhere except one coffeeshop that was no cards has accepted it no problem.

I met some Ecopayz reps at the Amsterdam conference, I am hoping to see them offer a CAD card in the future.

I have some contact numbers I did not have before.

I am proud to report megatransfer now works from Trada. I got my money today.

Bad news the fee is pretty outrageous. Trada sends it free of charge. However my bank charged me just over $35..pc finanacial

Same with RBC, no issues so far, I wonder with Scotia if it will apply to ECheck (citadel), have you tried that? I just made a large w/d from Nostalgia and CR wouldn't let me wire transfer, made me use ECheck (which was cheaper anyway)

I have a few eChecks and iDebits with RBC, no problem.
Scotia and TD are the worst to gambling so far we have heard in the last few years on forums.

I am actually a little nervous right now, had 3 bank transfers to RBC (all in 4 digits) from VS over the last couple weeks, the 4th one seems to be a little hung up (the largest), will have to wait til Monday now to see if it arrives before I sound the alarm.
