Can anyone Help Me

I was wondering if any of you guys can help me out. I play poker at pokerroom.com, i have played the casino games there (mostly blackjack) and i cannot believe how "house friendly" the cards seem to be. I put this down to sour grapes on my part and stopped playing BJ there. It was only recently that i noticed in the forums there that so many players had similar experiences to me when playing blackjack, roulette etc. I wondered if anyone here knew anything about the integrity of the casino software provider for this site

im not sure, but i do know that i lose 80% of my blackjack sessions there. At one point, dealer had 3 bj's in a row when I had 500 on the table each time. Plays very strange, but i wouldnt go as far as to say crooked and i wouldnt eliminate that as a possibility either.

Thanks for the reply, after looking through this forum i notice you are a very active member who obviously knows what they are doing when it comes to online BJ, my experiences and feedback from other players there are identical to yours. My question to you would be, is it as simple as finding out who provides the software and then trying to ascertain whether this software offers fair odds, or do theses casinos have the right to tweak the software in their favour.

I assumed that there were a given number of casino software providers, some good, some bad. once the casino decides which provider to use they would accept the software "as is" thus offering identical odds to any other site using the same software.

To simplify my question, do these sites have the right to manipulate the odds, and if they do, who are they accountable to

I would be very grateful if anyone knew what software pokerroom uses and whether there have been any previous problems with it

people like bryan or jetset are experts when it comes to what software etc. chances are you'll never find out which casino is crooked. Take the casino on air situation. I played on that back in 2000, lost 5-7k from what i remember. Knew someone was so wrong with their software and back then I was a dumb kid. Later wiz did tests and found it was crooked. Unless theres a wiz doing tests on every casino that gets questioned about the fairness, nobody will ever know for sure.

Are they accountable to anyone? Aside from Microgaming casinos being accountable to places like ecogra, no casinos are really accountable. No laws enforce them. Even the licensing (in my opinion) is just a sham.

Your only solution is to just stop playing completely at any place you feel isnt dealing fair hands. dont feel bad though bud, i lost a lot of $ to pokerroom.com before i stopped playing. you live and you learn.

to answer your question i dont know what software provider it is, maybe jetset or someone will know.

This recent quote from the owner of a new poker room might throw some light on to the question of what software Poker Room uses: "PokerNetwork also licenses its software to PokerRoom.com currently the worlds fifth largest poker site."

Poker Room has claimed that its software is proprietary, I believe - that's not unusual as many of these companies like the public to believe that their software is exclusive.

When it comes to poker rooms Poker Addict is your man - perhaps he woluld care to comment?

I do not know whose software Poker Room uses. I have heard time and time and time again from players to avoid the Poker Room casino games. I have played PR very little so I have no comment on that other then I dont like their poker software which is why I dont play there.

As for their claim to be 5th, I watch poker pulse pretty often. I have never seen them higher then 6th, usually they are 6-7th ranked now a days seem to be

Paradise
Prima (recently moved to 4th)
Ultimate Bet
Pacific
Poker Room
Either an old release or a dreaming one

Search 2+2 for Poker Room blackjack and you will find a bunch of posts from people who agree with you.

Hi jetset

The new pokerroom that you mention i presume must be hollywoodpoker, it has been confirmed to me that their site is identical to pokerroom. Apparently all pokerroom.com players have an account there whether they like it or not, and vice versa. (same promo's, tournament names etc) a moderator on pokerroom's forums confirmed this and, despite claims from many players, he said it was not un-ethical and that there was no conflict of interest.

I have no issue with the poker software, the shuffle has been authenticated

The issues are with the casino software, housed on a different server and with little or no reference to software provider etc. This software was added much later as the site was just for poker for a long time.

I did consider posting this thread in the poker room section but as i said the poker software is really good.

It is the casino software, specifically the blackjack that i hope to get some information on.

It seems lots of people have been having problems with the casino software and its a real shame because, in my opinion its a great poker site.

Do you think i have the right to ask pokerroom which casino software they use and if they are forthcoming with this information is it going to be of any use to me. There cannot be this much smoke without fire, and i know that something isnt right with the way the software plays, the moment you increase your bets it seems as if the software adapts and becomes unfairly "house friendly"

If i am running up a blind alley here then fine, i respect your advice and i guess i will have to let it lie. If not then i would be thankfull for any advice as to how i should proceed further

Just dug up a little more information on PokerNetwork anyway, so here it is:

It only took Poker Room 7 days to return an email that simply asked "What company makes your software?" Why so long?????

Their answer is Ongame e-solutions AB are the software designers.
