Calling All Slot Junkies!

Simmo!

Paleo Meister (means really, really old)
Hi Guys

Following feedback from the Progressive Challenge, the Meister and myself thought it would be fun to get some more competitions going on some of the better slots out there, so I've been busy over the past month putting together a plan! MWhaaaaaaa, Mwaahaaaaaa.

Hmm. Anyway. That plan is nearing fruition and one or two guys here have very kindly helped me test it out a bit and I think I'm just about ready to open it up for the Slotsters and Slotchiks of this world to take a poke around before launch.

Basically, we have found a number of kind people at some of the better casinos to take a game and offer up some prizes for the best wins during December for some of the popular slots. It's tricky trying to balance fair-play rules with keeping everyone happy, especially as we wanted everyone to have a chance without opening it up to abuse, but i think I've found a balance. The key is that prizes are initially decided on "coin" wins rather than physical amount, so it doesnt matter so much if you are spinning at $1 or $10. Only when there is a "tie" does amount play a part.

The competitions don't start until the 1st December, but the site is open now at www.slotjunkies.info for players to sign up and take a poke around. Obviously it's free to enter and you can read up on the competitions in the "Player Lounge" now and grab those casinos you think you're gonna need. I'm looking for feedback between now and then...any comments, ideas...anything to help make it run smoothly. Is the FAQ good enough? Rules clear enough? etc etc

The competitions so far sponsored for December include The Progressive Challenge, "Thunderstruck" (well d'uh!), "The Hulk", "X-men", "Rapid Fire Jackpots", "What On Earth", "Bejeweled", "Spring Break" & "Mermaids Millions". Also, its quite possible that "Tomb Raider" and "Jungle Jim" will make an appearance this week but I've not had confirmation.

Casinos who have offerred to sponsor so far are all MG or Crypto and all Meister-accredited (with the exception of Littlewoods who are more than creditable as any Brit will tell you!) and all take players from the US, UK and much of Europe. They are Roxy Palace, Intercasino, Littlewoods, 32Red, Trident Lounge, Sands of the Caribbean and King Neptunes (also Trident group). I also have a couple more approach me who may be added to that list.

As its kind of a new idea, we'll be evaluating it during December, check it's being played in the right spirit - that kind of thing - and if the sponsors are happy, and you guys like it, hopefully we can roll it over month on month. I've added a couple of very basic "minimum" requirements more as anti-abuse measures to be honest - a $50 minimum deposit (but over the whole month, noyt just up-front) and wagering equal to the prizes on offer in each comp - seems fair. They may be too low, or indeed not be necessary at all if everyone's playing it fair but as i say, we'll see how December pans out and if its popular from both sides, fix it for January.

The main thing is it gets us all showing off and finally proves once and for all that Slotster is nothing but a second-rate Slot Junkie compared to the king :D

Anyway, take a look-see at www.slotjunkies.info.

Cheers

Simmo!

PS. By the way, i forgot to mention that i was having a few problems with the email running slower than snail-mail on the server last week so if the activation link is slow to turn up, let me know. I have a backup plan!

A very valid point Vambo. GMT-8 being the answer - so whatever West Coast America uses (help!)

Cheers

Great job again Simmo! I'm already activating accounts in the participating casinos (of which I only have 32red at the moment...)

Well done:thumbsup:
Cheers

 Should be fun. I'll probably open up the comps for entry slightly before the opening deadline too. Just make sure there aren't any final tweaks to make to the system first :D

West Coast is Pacific time.

Thanks Dom

Also got 5-Reel Drive added to the competitions today at Golden Riviera  That makes 10 comps for December now :D

just curious...

quote from www.slotjunkies.info ...

"The Progressive Challenge is a multi-slot competition open to regular posters at Casinomeister".

can we define "regular posters" please? this sounds like something i'd like to do, but, if i don't meet the criteria...whatever it may be...

i have been lurking here for a long time, but only recently started posting.

i've seen other sites run promos where members have to have "X" amount of posts, but that just ends up with a bunch of people posting bullshit just to meet whatever the quota is, and all we end up with is a forum filled with bullshit, and thats the last thing anyone wants to see.

LOL - there is no definition M :-) If i recognise you, i let you in - cos of the 30% thing there's an element of trust involved. Oh...and i do recognise you so feel free to sign up :D

A registered member is good enough for me. Don't forget to subscribe to Casinomeister's newsletter as well :D

I need my "fix", I wanna be a slotjunkie...

Hi Simmo,

Wow, great idea, and nice layout at slotjunkies! I'll be looking to get in on the action real soon. ;)

I just have two questions. Are you (and one of the MG casinos) going to be including Tombraider at some point? Also, since I do see that the Trident Group have joined both Trident Lounge as well as King Neptunes, are they considering using VegasUSA (love the music there) as well?

Glad that you put this together, great work!

Original!

I will often play in tournaments, and this is the first time I have seen one that is run independently of any one casino (other than as sponsors). As I play in UK Ponds though, how does this affect the prizes?
Normal Casino tournaments will award the prize in the currency of play ($400 or 400) - I suspect this could be different if only $400 has been given in prize money.
I would like to suggest an updated scoreboard throughout the month detailing what the current highest payout has been, so we know what to beat (perhaps you have this, I will have a more detailed look).
I like the idea of making the win a multiple of the coin used rather than absolute win as this allows the smaller players to compete on an equal footing. Most casino tournaments favour the big players as they count absolute wager or payout. I will most likely be having a go at some of these, and will look for a venue that allows small coin sizes, as this will buy more entries.

Hi John

Tombraider could well be on the cards but no confirmation just yet. But Mermaids Millions at Neptunes is pretty much the same game if memory serves. With good calming music too :-) Just the two from Trident this month - it is after all an evaluation period but if it goes well, who knows :)

The prizes will be awarded in the currency of the winning claims. So whatever you play in is what you get rewarded in. The Progressive Challenge excluded but if someone hits that jackpot, who cares :)

As you say, casino competitions are always seeming to be geared up to the size or physical amount of wagers, which while you can appreciate the logic, does often exclude all but the high rollers. I never enter casino competitions for two reasons: 1) I'm up against people who will undoubtedly out-wager me even if i'm playing big and 2) i can't see who's doing what or interact...its not very "community". So being a Quake player for many years I decided that some community banter was what was needed to make it fun :)

I have written a "Hall Of Fame" script which will come in during the month and do exactly what you suggest. There will effectively be league tables of certain things like Highest Win, Most Claims Above 100 Coins etc. There may also be extra prizes for these but no guarantee on this.

You can also see a leaderboard for each game through the "View All Claims" link in the Player Lounge which runs in real time. Obviously nothing there yet til it opens. Finally, the "Latest News" page provides an external RSS feed of all claims and competitions, again in real-time for the casual and non-registered users to view.

Most of the venues allow small coin sizes, but bear in mind there is a basic wagering requirement, albeit a small one. We're keen to make sure that all the prizes don't go to ppl playing at $0.09c a line else the sponsors may not come back - lol. Its a question of balance ;)

Simmo,
I'd like to add that I too think this is a BRILLIANT thing you have started here! :notworthy

I also never take part in the casino-organised tournaments for the very same reason - I know I would never ever be able to compete with the high-rollers.
Your system gives everyone a crack at it!

The only down-side is that of all the casinos involved so far only Inter & 32Red have sensible monthly bonuses (I'm currently banned from Littlewoods promos - but I might work on that;) ), so as a bonus user (not abuser!) my participation might be somewhat limited. :(

I will still be having a dabble though - get those screenshot threads ready...:D

LOL - cheers KK. Only time will tell if its successful for both players and casinos alike. Fingers crossed :)

Slotster will be pleased to know that Maple added Ladies Night today. And also, those nice ppl at Roxy added 2nd and 3rd prizes to T'Struck

Cheers Dom - time will tell :)

VWM - "Ponds" aren't currently deemed acceptible currency unless you clear the weeds out and feed the goldfish up first. But obviously expect the prizes to be in ponds - don't expect streams and rivers now eh! Just so you don't get disappointed ;)

How about other software providers?

I have a two-prong question in regards to the paragraph above.

a) Will you be extending your induction to NEW members of Earth (I don't have my papers... yet)? :D

b) I have multiple G-Fed accounts, and it's a darn shame that they aren't one of the sponsors for this competition. If I'm using my funds, I'll only feel safe knowing that one of the sponsers carries the prestige of the "Gambling Commission" stamp of approval. I think I finally got the hang of "Bananarama" 5-reel slot! Shucks. :(

There's you picking up on someones tiny 'ponds' error - what about you?

How long have you been playing Ladies Nite?

Or is this Ladies Night slot only available if you have a UK Ponds account? :D

Haha. Caught red-handed. Silly me :D

Two more competitions added today: "Pollen Nation" and "Cashville" courtesy of Challenge and Music Hall :D

We're up to 13 competitions for December now - a couple more maybe before the start-date of the 1st and we're ready to roll  I'll probably allow competition entries ahead of this. I just need to get my secret weapon finished first, but hopefully nearly done (bar testing) and it should hopefully be worth the wait ;)

This sounds absolutely awesome Simmo, was checking out your Game Buddy last night, and that's what directed me here. I am going to do my absolute best to try and partake in this, I am after all, the Thunderstruck Queen, lol.
