BTG feature buys no longer in the UK

Hi guys,

Just received the notification that the UKGC has send all BTG aggregators an email asking to take down: Extra Chilli, Book of Gods, White Rabbit.

So Microgaming will start blocking the content now for UK players.

Haven't heard anything from SG yet, but it seems the end of an era is coming?

I said this months ago, when SkyVegas woudn't add Extra Chilli, I asked the BTG rep if it was due to the UKGC considering a ban on feature buys (which was something I had been told they were looking at), and BTG said it wasn't that and it was because SV have a max bet of £100. Looks like it may have been for the reason I said.

Did they give reasons? There are a lot more games have feature buys, why only the ones mentioned, or have they not said? If it is ONLY those three games, maybe they have found something in the games thats not right?

I'm chatting now with providers.
SG is not aware, maybe because the letter was sent the US HQ and not Stockholm, so that takes a bit of more time :)
Relax seems to be received the letter and Blueprint as well.

There are many more that have a feature buy. Even MG just added another one, Boom Pirates, with Blueprint being the champion.

Very narrow - minded approach to the RG. Feature Buy can be very good for RG if used properly by the player.
Properly informed and educated players should be their main concern.

Best solution: Set max bet by casino and player.

I would say it doesnt really matter to point to other games/providers supporting feature buys, if BTG and aggregators and Blueprint receives such a letter. It can be interpreted that it applies to all providers having some kind of feature buy.

Yes it is looking like it isn't it. Will be interesting to see the reasons why.

Yes, that is true. I just wanted to say that I disagree with the ban. UKGC, educate the players please and stop the ban.

Easy solution: Set max bet by casino and player.

Edit: Where is this going to end? How many more useless bans? How many more invasive checks?

Surely BTG with all their skills can remove the feature buy and release another version of these games? Chilli is one of my faves, more sad times.

At this rate with the UKGC doing certain things, the fun will totally gone for all the recreational players such as myself, they're killing the whole experience for us in the UK!

I warned this would happen numerous times on this forum - think about it. The UKGC have banned 100 quid stakes on FoBTs quite rightly so now you can go online and bet 2k for a single slot feature. Was never going to last. These are add-ons anyway and are easily removed by developers.

Sat and thought about this a little more.

Why always the most dramatic action (IE: removing the games altogether)

Simply 'grey out' the feature drop button (you know like they did with auto spin ,they're good at that!)

Reduction coins remain the same so from where I am sat from would not even affect the RTP, players would still get their "free feature" via the final reduction coin just not at a time they chose to.

Think if you were one of the high-street bookmakers who has just had their max stakes reduced.

How much time and money would you spend lobbying the UKGC to bring the UK regulated online casino stakes down in line with your own stake limitations? This is just the start.

Just got told by Blueprint it wouldn't take them long to remove the feature buy on the games, but the rumour goes that BTG would have to redo their feature buy games. Only BTG can confirm.

Looks like BTG are bearing the brunt for popularising feature-buys. Obviously harsh if other companies get to retain theirs.

Will be a shame in some respects, as it is my sole reason for playing White Rabbit. Spent £130 the other day just on reeling the features off (ahem)

Will removing them not affect the RTP though?

I don't think so, I think BP is running 2 games seperately. Would need to double check but the majority of the spec sheets I've read - the RTP for the feature buy is slightly higher. So I reckon it is just a matter of removing the feature buy game.

good i hate the feature buy, no need for it and should have never been allowed by the UKGC in the first place. even worse when BTG had a gamble with the buy feature.

and i will admit i did complain( by email) to the UKGC, my local mp and to gambling related harm appg ( the people behind the fobt's lower stake)

I had email from UKGC that said it was up to the casino to watch players dont spend to much on feature buys and to check if players are changing there patterns on spending and depositing due to the buy feature. i replied to them with proof off one casino accredited on here that allowed a player to spend over £1000 on feature buys in a day and who normally only spends £50 - £100 a month ( on just spins not buy features) and UKGC never got back to me.

so contacted gambling related harm appg and sent them a copy of the UKGC email.
gambling related harm appg did contact me back and i had nice conversation with a person associated with them. and they did say they would be contacting the UKGC. and will be looking in to the buy feature.

so i hope i had something to do with it.

The worst I have seen is Kalamba's Machina Meagreways with a 337x bet feature buy. Shocking.

Who in there right mind would buy a feature that high.

Goes to show once one provider brings out a buy feature other company's see how far they can push it.

Feature Buys like White Rabbit don't seem such a bad thing - once you buy it, it's there and you know you'll get your spins. But Feature Buy on Extra Chilli, with still the chance to lose all your spins with that horrendous gamble is just evil. Yeah I *know* you don't *have* to gamble, but by and large the majority of players who play these things are gamblers...and these games are designed very well to keep you playing, keep you on edge and keep you coming back. Hopefully won't be long before the BTG bonus chase mechanics are stopped as well.
