Me and mate at Genting UK Casino - both long standing members - my mate gets refused entry.

After a discussion with the manager, turns out he has a marker on his membership file as he has self excluded via GamStop.

The irony is that he opted out of online so that he could control his gambling, stop chasing losses and just take a set amount of budgeted cash with him to the casino instead. Also with online gameplay going downhill recently it was an easy decision.

Just a little bit of intel there as he had no idea (as did I) that physical casinos were scanning for this too.

If a land based casino has an online operation it kind of makes sense for responsible gambling

With regards to Genting, am I now excluded from their land based operations since I've signed up to GamStop? (I never used their online operations)

Mecca Bingo made it very clear - I am now excluded from their online portfolio but unless I tell them otherwise will still be welcome in their land based operations including Grosvenor casino (I haven't even used that site in the past 10 years or so which makes you wonder why my account hasn't been wiped by now but anyway!)...interestingly that account also uses my old email address which I didn't specify in my GamStop profile so they must have matched every other field successfully

National Lottery my account is still active but even just trying an instant win scratchcard game for fun...you've chosen to take a break, no great loss! (At least my dream of winning the lottery one day with my single £2 weekly entry is still alive!)

All in all very impressed with the GamStop process, it took less than 5 minutes to register with no issues at all and it has definetely filtered through within the 24 hours!

Might not be so impressed when you try and lift it at the end of the exclusion period though. Complete ball ache. For this reason I'd not recommend it for taking a temporary (6 month) break.

Great thing for people with severe gambling issues though who want a long term solution.
