Im going to keep it short and simple. After much research and conversations directly with government officials from the country of Curacao it turns out that the gaming license that Direx N.V and Bitstarz uses has no legal value. Curacao egaming has no affiliation with the government of Curacao or any of their affiliates. I want everyone to research for themselves and you will see for yourself these casinos are all rogue operators. Official government websites all end with .gov so bring your evidence before dismissing this by deleting this post.

I'm not sure you're 100% correct. I mean, yes many curacao casinos are in-fact rogue. However, there are a few that are legit. One example is Lucky Days. I've played there myself and never had any issues.

Im not sure you understood exactly what it is I am saying. Yes there may be some good casinos but as far as their gaming license goes it is fictitious in the eyes of the Curacao government because there is no official governing body overseeing online gaming.

Hi Brandon,

We're always happy to discuss anything BitStarz related.

I think it's up to each and everyone to judge which license they think is most valid, and the opinions there differ depending on who you ask.

The reason BitStarz uses as Curacao license is due to it being the best option for a cryptocurrency focused casino such as BitStarz. The other licenses doesn't give us the same flexibility as Curacao does.

The fact that we've also won Best Casino 2017 and Player's Choice 2018 at the AskGamblers Awards indicates that we're not one of the fraudulent casinos you speak of here (I'd like to think).

Regards,

Olle

Not so fast buddy, any true player that has been around for more than a few years knows that askgamblers is corrupt as hell. All one has to do is search bitstarz in the forums here and you will see many complaints and a lot users questioning how you were able to get accredited status with your bad history. I would like to post my recent conversations with some of the moderators regarding their concern on your accredited status but I don't want to get anyone in trouble.

To all the players reading this post I want you to pay attention to how professional these guys come off as. This is a technique called Double Talk and is used by crooked politicians to confuse the people, they say one thing and then do the opposite.

One more thing, why did you ignore the fact that multiple Curacao government officials have all confirmed your gaming license is worth nothing and not legal.

Which government officials? Can you provide evidence?
If it’s come from an official account, the answer won’t be exclusive to you, so it’s worth showing us.

I wouldn’t put a lot of stock in Facebook messenger chats, oddly.

Ministry of Justice is the one issuing master licenses. Curacao egaming is a master license holder that issues sublicenses. Have you contacted Ministry of Justice? It's possible other government agencies simply don't know about online casino licensing.

Government does know they exist and have said many times in various news articles that these online casinos are not legal and their gaming license according to the government of Curacao is not valid.

Maybe you could do bit more extended research and post your review with bit more information instead all Curacao licensed casinos are fraud, that would have more value for readers?

Welcome to the website of the Curaçao Gaming Control Board. We are the regulator for the Curaçao landbased casino industry and the licensing authority for all lotteries, charity bingo and charity bon ku ne. () In addition to this, we have recently been appointed (by who?) the supervisor for the Curaçao gaming industry for compliance with legislation and regulation regarding anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT).

The Gaming Control Board strives to protect the interest of the public and the integrity and stability of the Curaçao gaming industry, by ensuring that all gaming is conducted honestly, responsibly, competitively and free from criminal and corruptive elements, thereby elevating the Curaçao gaming industry.

about us:

The Curaçao Gaming Control Board (GCB) is a foundation, incorporated on April 19, 1999, with the specific purpose of becoming the regulator [?] for the entire gaming industry operating in and from Curaçao.

our vision:

We are the gaming regulator for all gaming on Curaçao, recognized for our effectiveness in safeguarding public trust by ensuring all gaming is conducted honestly, responsibly, competitively and free from criminal and corruptive elements.

Our Partners

Proper regulation of all relevant aspects of the gaming sector requires the right partners and affiliation with the right peer membership organizations. These are some of our VIPs (Very Important Partners):

are our fellow AML/CFT supervisors and our sparring partners
( )in all topics that regard anti-money laundering and the countering of the financing of terrorism.

under 'public warnings' part of website

The Gaming Control Board may issue public warnings from time to time in cases where illegal, unlawful and/or unfair gaming practices have been detected.

[any? where are they]

news:

Curaçao, December 18, 2018
On December 18, 2018, the Minister of Finance, the Honorable Mr. Kenneth Gijsbertha, officially notified the general public of the government’s intention to appoint the Stichting Gaming Control Board as the unified regulator [there is more than one?] as well as the AML/CFT-supervisor for all of gaming in and from Curaçao.
The decision for this appointment had already been made by the Curaçao government in December 2013. The required legislative process to follow through on this decision is underway and is expected to be finalized in the coming months.
The Minister of Finance expects that the appointment of the GCB will also be helpful in combating illegality in our gaming sector
----------------
It all sounds confusing and what you'd likely expect from a cowboy operation, it seems as though there is more than one regulator, one for the island and one for online licences?

Love these kinda threads!

You state something is illegal but instead of providing proof says everyone should just research for themselves and even call the Curacao government. If you have proof and are 100% sure of it, why not just put it in the open instead?

The URL of the Belgian Gaming Commission doesn't end in .gov either and they're fully recognised by the Belgian government. But if I have to follow your reasoning in the OP they aren't because the URL doesn't end in .gov.

Yup, that pretty much was my point, why to start this kind of "informative" thread when at CM there are several articles about Curacao licenses with bit more information about them included.... Many people here have quite good understanding about how these licenses are working so value of this thread is yet not far away from zero.

from the website 'legalgamblingandthelaw.com'

https://www.legalgamblingandthelaw.com/worldwide-gambling-licensing-authorities/government-curacao
"However, some online gambling sites choose not to go through the often long and drawn out vetting procedures that will see those sites ultimately, if they pass those vetting procedures, be granted a license by a recognised Gambling Commission, and will instead choose to simply locate their servers and their operation in a low tax haven which offers no real protection for players and gamblers, and one of these located in Curacao.

There is no real infrastructure in Curacao which allows that country to issue gambling licenses, and as such when you find a site proclaiming to be fully licensed by the

, they will have obtained is a business license and nothing else!

It sounds as though the e-gaming side is not directly linked to the curacao government, their employees are not civil servants paid by the govt, a bit like a private regulator, but they'll sell you a license and you then abide by their 'rules'

...I'm not 100% sure of this but reading between the lines that's the set up, and the other regulator, the gaming board wants to take over the online side, maybe that's where this stuff about the govt not recognising the egaming as official comes from, they plan to unify it under one govt run commission.

Edit: after further reading I think I understand it now  and it seems the only online license that is half reputable is one issued by 'gaming-curacao', They are one of the four owners of a master license, provided to them by the govt, they then issue sub-licenses to the casinos. The egaming one 1668/JAZ is rated as worthless by CM

WILLEMSTAD - You often read on the various review websites that an online casino has received a permit from the government in Curaçao. Many online casinos even dare to say that they have received a gaming license from the Curaçao government. You often read on the page of the casino 'regulated by Government of Curaçao' or 'licensed by the government of Curacao. Nothing of that is true.
The government does not provide any casino licenses to online casinos and online bookmakers. There are so-called four IP licenses in circulation on Curaçao. These are just data processing licenses for telecommunication companies. It consists of;
Antillephone N.V. which also operates under the name Gamings Licenses (sic). The license number of this company is 8048 / JAZ.
Curaçao eGaming: this company provides eGaming licenses, where eGaming refers to the name of the company and not to the purpose of the license. Curacao eGaming license number is 1668 / JAZ.
Curaçao Interactive Licensing N.V. under license number 5536 / JAZ.
Gaming Curacao N.V. under license number 365 / JAZ.
These companies are also called the master licensees. They provide the sub licenses. Master licensees sell complete packages to interested online casinos. The packages do not only consist of an IP license, but you also get web server services, accountancy services, tax advice and trust services.

When you purchase these services, you pay between € 2,000 and € 8,000 monthly as an online casino. That is relatively cheap.
