Hi gang, I was having a conversation with an affiliate the other day, and since the response I gave him cost me quite a bit of work, and is something that ALL affiliates can use if they are not already doing so, I've decide to share this.

The situation is with a New Affiliate. Now he read that content was king and took this advice VERY seriously. He developed almost 1,000 Casino, bonus and game Reviews and articles. It was a truly massive undertaking. After having done this, he expected traffic to start coming in consistently, but this did not happen.

So then he read that he needs to build links. Now he is the type of person that will ask everyone. He got many good responses, I know mine was not the only one. But I took to the task of helping him find places to get links from. So here is a little strategy, that while it won't put you on first page for online casino, it will help you with whatever efforts you are already doing:

Part 1 - 101 Direct Do Follow Links

The list is ordered from highest home page PR to lowest:

Step 2 - 40 High Quality Links - Launder 2,000 Links through 20 Web 2.0 Properties

For this step you are going to need to create 20 different articles related to your main site. You are going to use each article to create one web 2.0 site. These are the domain where you can put the articles:

weebly.com
wetpaint.com
squidoo.com
livejournal.com
vox.com
zimbio.com
gather.com
hubpages.com
tumblr.com
xanga.com
ning.com
edublogs.com
blog.com
quizilla.com
blogetery.com
blogsome.com
wordpress.com
ehow.com
wblogin.com
blogspot.com

Remember to include two or three links back to your main site INSIDE the content of each article (if you do more, it can be flagged as spam, so avoid it). Then go ahead and create links to each of those web 2.0 properties where your article is. You have the list of 101 link list above, so you can use that to create 101 links to each of your 20 web 2.0 places.

This will give your main site 100 direct low quality links, 40 Direct High Quality links, and 2,000 indirect links which are laundered through the web 2.0 properties to pass on the link love to you!

BTW, if you din't know, Regal Affiliates and I have been nominated under the categories of Best Casino Affiliate Manager, Best Casino Affiliate Program, and Best Overall Affiliate Program. Even if you don't vote for us, if you are an industry person, cast your vote. The more people participate, the more representative it will be! The voting can be done here: igbaffiliateawards.com/content/vote

P.S. I know all I outlined is hard work, but nothing good has ever come without effort. Affiliate work is hard work, but can have large rewards. Whether you succeed or not is all up to you!

P.S.S. I know some of the web 2.0 sites are no follow and some say no follow links have no value. But from my personal testing, this is simply not true. It is best if a link is do follow but no follow still passes on SOME value, although not all.

P.S.S.S. This is a multi-forum post, I apologize to the admin if this is something that isn't good, I just thought it would be a good contribution :)

Kind Regards,
Nicolas Johnson

what were the results?

has the site increased traffic?
if so by how much?

The real bottom line is...
Were conversions increased?

What you outline is very expensive and a lot of work...So my question is... Is it REALLY worth it to do all this.

IMO it would be more likely the result of this would be from the catalyst of the site(s) increasing their SERP's.

How many places has each site jumped in the SERPS for each targeted keyword phrase?

Were conversions increased?

Good point

When time is money it maybe a frugal approach to purchase high PR 1 way links. Granted that's not cheap but with the alternative as outlined above it at least gives you concrete links.

How many of the targeted keyword phrases have obtained an increase in SERPS? Are we talking a couple of spots or a dramatic jump?

One of the problems I see is your placing a lot of eggs into one basket. Your relying on these articles, sites and links to produce. With all that work involved if Google changed its alog tomorrow it could we be a waste of time. Hence the reason I'd be more inclined to invest (if I was a noobie) $100 - $200 a month in buying 1 way links and building my link portfolio that way.

The other things that concerns me is you've got all those articles out there, the chances of unscrupulous affiliates using the articles for their own benefit makes me wonder if it's really worth the hassle.

Point in question...I discovered a low life scum bag doctored one of my articles and changed the URL to point to his slots site. I find this on the increase lately. Although I get the stuff removed (contacting the aff programs) it's a pain in the ass. So the thought of having to do this on a grand scale would have me going nuts!

Cheers

Dave
