See that is where I kind of disagree . Yes higher the RTP the better.
But having a high RTP does not always mean you will get more playtime it all depends on how game is designed.
Where as I find I got a lot more game time and bigger wins on other book games than this 99% one.
You can design a 97% slot that will give much less playtime tha a 94% slot depending how RTP is allocated. I know RTP is important but at times people need to see how a lower RTP slot plays.
I know I have a few regular slots that are 94 to 95 % RTP but that was original RTP and they play much better than most 96 % RTP slots.
You could also make a version of a 94% slot play identical to a 96% slot so no less playtime if you wished.
All it would take work be to change max payout frequency . These are not correct figures before anyone says.
But say you have a slot that paid out 2 x 100,000 times wins every 10 million spins that ran at 96%. You could make same slot at say 94% just make it pay 1 max win instead of 2.
As your average player is not likely to ever hit max win they would play both versions and never notice a difference.
There's nothing I'd really disagree with there, once in a while I'll take on the challenge of getting five scatters on Fortune Falls at 3Dice, that game has an RTP of 94.98%, so feels a touch on the low side in that regard, but holy crap does that game give playtime, because it's been designed from the ground up to run at that RTP, has really regular features that pay modest amounts and can keep a balance turning over for ages, and its absolute hard top pay is 1600x stake from the five scatters - so they can make that not spectacular RTP go a long way.
Specifically on the Book games I've had some horrible sessions on Book Of Dead in real money play on the 96% 'full pay' variant, to the extent I went away and properly kicked it around in demo play to really get a feel for it.
Now I could be wrong here, but Book of 99 feels like Book Of Dead to me, with the extra 3% in the book collection feature, so like I say above, if they're not paying well, you can still have a bad session, although you are effectively getting a feature guarantee every 350 spins or so, on top of normally triggered features, which can really help to smooth things out.
Also it really helps to think long term when it comes to slots IMO, as once your spin sample starts to get large enough (and generally not that massive either), you might be surprised at how close you start to get to T-RTP. And if your T-RTP is 94% instead of 99%, that's a big difference in how much you've lost.
