Bitstarz and streamers

Any comment to this ?

Hi man,

Perhaps this might a bit off-topic, and I'm also not an affiliate manager to be fair. I, therefore, have to confess that I might not be the best person to answer.

With that said, I always thought it was not that uncommon for streamers to receive bonus funds from casinos to play for. I mean, before BitStarz I was working for LeoVegas and they did that too. Also, this guy was actually quite open and honest about it being bonus funds from the casino, so I'm a bit confused.

Maybe I'm not seeing it, so it would be great to get some feedback from you guys actually. Is receiving bonus money from the casino to play and stream to promote the casino something you would consider to be a big no-no? Does this change anything? If you believe so, I'd really like to hear what you have to say.

Not trying to be funny or play ignorant, but again, I'm not an affiliate manager and I'm genuinely interested in your opinion about this.

Asked your comment and got it :) So you dont see anything wrong with that at all.. Yeah this guy said it and i think he is done for streaming forever.... I dont think your affiliate manager wanted that kind of info speaked out loud in stream ;) IMO there is right ways of marketing and then there is wrong ways, you decide if i think that way is right...

Hi there,

I said it's not my area of expertise so I'm happy to listen to other people's arguments and make an educated decision based on that.

If it was the case where someone wasn't honest about what they were doing or was trying to be deliberately deceptive, I'd have any issue with that for sure.

Now, again, I'm not in affiliation and do not know about the specific rules of streaming sites, etc, so to give a very in-depth answer to that would require me to pretend to know more about a subject than I do.

As you seem to be very passionate about this particular thing, I'd like to hear your opinion as to how bad you think this is, and why you think it's bad. I'm sorry to say that if you wish to change my mind and sway me to your side, a comment like "IMO there is right ways of marketing and then there is wrong ways" falls a bit short.

I'd appreciate if you could elaborate on that for me.

Hope the OP PABs for this case.

As for the affiliation, if someone is given a "bonus" which they can't even withdraw with, that is a no-no imo. It's like watching someone play in demo mode. The reactions to wins would all be fake and not genuine.

If someone is open about it from the beginning, fair. But I still don't think it's fair to the audience, they should be shown close to what true gambling is, and not just free money..

Unless the streamer has a message constantly on the screen saying this is casino money and cannot be withdrawn etc then it is conning the audience.

What the bitstarz affilate manager wanted is for said streamer to take his fake money and pretend he was playing with his own real money to encourage others to sign up. He did not want this streamer being honest at all unfortunately

I believe it is against accredation rules here to supply streamers with fake money??

I am glad CG acted promptly to remove the streamer who was indeed young and naive but should have spoken to Nick or Kim in the first place before taking the money to get advice.

Hi guys,

I appreciate the feedback :)

So in other words, if the streamer was open and honest about that the money was play money, you wouldn't consider that to be anything to be concerned about?

Again, I'm not much of a player so sometimes it's hard for me to look at things from a player perspective, that's why I'm trying to get your side of the story and understand you better :)

I commented on that video:

Highlighted comment:
He was open about the fact he was set up with non-withdrawable cash. His objective is exactly the same as all other streamers - to 'entertain' and make money from the casino affiliate programme. In fact, he's actually more honest than many of them. He as good as said that when his affiliate earnings come through, he will deposit for real. He has to start somewhere. The worst 'crimes' are not disclosing bonuses, playing with bonuses ONLY available to streamers or not disclosing non-withdrawable funds. In other words, representing activity or products NOT available to the average joe watching them.

I dont like fake money streaming at all.. Its miss leading, its ethically wrong, its disgusting way to lure players and just evil. This one guy said it, how many there is who are not saying it.. Sorry but you act like you dont have any idea whats going on cause you are not "affiliate guy" , bullshit...

Hi there,

I've been in this industry for a long time, all my adult life to be fair.

With that said, it doesn't mean that I'm in expert in all aspects of the business, and at least I'm honest enough to say that. I don't pretend to know more things than I do, and that's why I (pretty respectfully in my opinion) was asking for you to give me your side of the story.

I'm not sure what you do for a living, but I'm gonna guess that you wouldn't consider yourself an expert in all aspects of your profession.

Olle

Edit: On the operator side of a casino, you have people working with development (coding), payment integration and systems, affiliation, support, SEO, marketing, finance, legal, fraud, RG, etc. To expect of me to be a wiz at all of those things is perhaps expecting me to be smarter than I am.

I appreciate your feedback, mate!

Thanks for your responses to date, I suspect the issue regarding fake money is not related to bonus funds, which everyone is aware of and have no issues with, but with regards to Casino's topping up streamers accounts with "monopoly money" to enable them to play at unsustainable rates, thereby promoting a false perception.

Is topping up accounts for streamers with fake money good or bad, I'm in the middle on this one. Personally I would say it is irrelevant to those watching, but is bad for the casino, as it casts into doubt their credibility. But most of those who utilise this methodology are soon found out and are a laughing stock (Roshtein, allegedly Gabriel Slots, just to mention a few)

At the end of the day to my mind it is just advertising anyway, like those casino pops which you immediately close which show a winning spin or full screen every time :)

Hi man,

Really appreciate the detailed and nuanced feedback from you.

Again (despite what people might think) I'm no expert in this field, so I'm simply trying to form an opinion based on what players think. So I appreciate you posting your views on this to help me with that.

But yeah, seems like the affiliate team here made up their mind and no bonuses will be given to them.

@BitStarz
Morning guys cheers first off for the presence here on the forum and being transparent.
Regarding the OP will wait and see the outcome of the PAB before I comment on that.

secondly I totally agree with @dunover in respect to the streamer you used.
He is indeed a hell of a lot more honest than the majority of so called big streamers, at least he was open and truthful to the viewers that his account was funded by yourselves.

there are many out there whom clearly are casino funded, it’s impossible not to be yet they choose to lie and deceive claiming it’s purely there own raw cash when it’s not, especially judging by some of the casino brands and sites these lot are playing at.

I personally don’t see the difference of real cash, casino funded or fake when it comes to those lovely folks the grey spotted streamers.
They all promote gambling in a totally unrealistic and false light, it’s a massive misrepresentation of what online gambling is, so the funding of showing this is irrelevant anyhow.
just my 2 cents.

Hi mate :)

Appreciate the kind words.

We try to be. I don't pretend to speak for anyone but myself but I personally appreciate when companies are actually active in forums and share their thoughts publicly.

So yeah, any questions, we're here :)

No way @LetsGiveItASpin and nickslots didnt know about this
for me they look pretty bad in this, why would the casino give a new streamer that kind of money to stream to lure players and make money through aff unless its for the big guns ?
heads up to the stramer for his honesty. and he gets booted off Casinogrounds to try to save there own asses because they got cought, well my opinion anyway :)

Cant speak about nick but letsgiveitaspin ive been watching every now and then since he started and i truly believe hes gambling with own money.. Ofc he gets bonuses like everyone.

The guy in the video had been questioned before when on one of his big win highlights you can clearly hear a women's voice in the background asking if they can actually withdraw the money.

Anyway, atleast he was honest unlike "some" others out there.

My favorite streamer is The Bandit's Slot Video Channel on YouTube. Any other streamer, I just can't get into the rhythm of watching for prolonged periods of time. I'm also certain he uses his own cash, no bonus. ever.

Again not one single one of them is totally legit, if they where they would just stream for there own fun.

The only one that does is hyperlynx. He started playing pub fruits.
The rest are all just the same, whether it’s real money or not what does that matter as the end goal is the same....
They need and want your sign up.

I’ve said before I’ve spoken to affy managers years back about some you mentioned, they openly promoted bonus hunts for example and said it was fine with bonus money... no it’s not and never has been ‘spirit of the bonus’ term alone would make you lose any winnings, but the streamers for a long time denied this... wonder how many mugs lost out due to this..

Casino euro max bet £10 for the streamers, it’s only £5 for the players, no regular reloads either.

What I’m saying is the representation of gambling they show people is so far removed from reality it Surerly must be breaking many advertising rules alone...

Real money or fake it doesn’t matter, from that guy with lovely hair rosh to nick... they are in exactly the same line or business, it’s just packaged differently by some to make them appear genuine, when in reality the thing is more dodgy than a night at barrymores with free pool and alcohol access.

Pretty good, couldn't see anything that could be deemed ban-worthy, so kudos, keep it up!

Ok there was a hint of hair-shaming but overall well done
