Bingo Caller Fired

A man in his forties who was the bingo caller for Gala Bingo has been fired and another woman who worked there has been suspended because they are suspected of a $10,000 scam.

Bosses at Gala Bingo became somewhat suspicious when the woman (believed to be the callers' girlfriend) called "house" to claim the top prize.

They believe they have uncovered a plot in which the couple fixed the bingo game by controlling the numbers which should have been randomly generated.

The investigation continues by the Gaming Commission. They say there was a lot of money involved in this. They belive a secret code was used that brought up certain numbers instead of what should have been randomly generated.

No names have been released as far as I can find.

This would have been almost impossible under the system where actual balls were spat out of a shuffling machine in full view of the players.

It shows that there are checks in place to flag such things though, but how long could it have been going on, and is this the ONLY instance?

Actually, not long ago there was a case where the bingo caller was in kahootz with a friend playing, and the main reason it was investigated was the fact that as he was calling out numbers, he refused to show the players what number was on the ball. He was also calling out numbers faster than normal, so they didn't have a chance to question him as this was going on.
