Hey everybody :)

I'm back from London igaming conference!

Still really excited about @Casinomeister receiving Lifetime Achievement award at iGB Awards ceremony, but Best Game for 2021 award also caught my attention - I was immediately wondering whether you'll agree or not for "Big Bass Bonanza" by Pragmatic Play winning it!

Would love to hear your thoughts :)

Too many teases in game, then the countless dead spins in the bonus, wouldn't have been my first choice!

I actually am not surprised, It deserves to win in my opinion.

I love all the bass games and i cant be the only one,
Most other gaming providers have caught on and are now releasing there own clone versions of big bass. haha

Its a great game for me as its not hard to bonus at all most days anyway.
And the amount of time i have had these big bass games bonus on the 1st spin opening up the game or my last spin before busting out is unreal definetly over 15 times i would say, But i play these bass games a lot.

Also worth pointing out the theme, colours, etc are very immersive and engaging!

P.S i call the fisherman Steve. And on bigger bass bonanza i call him Disco Steve!

Dont ask me why........

Ill get me Rod.........:(

Fishin’ Frenzy is a far superior game that actually seems to pay in bonus, in my opinion. Obviously it’s a few years old now.

The multipliers on Big Bass in the bonus just seem mostly for show to me. Once you get to the higher multis the fishermen never seem to land. Fishin’ Frenzy is just a more solid performer in my eyes.

I think the game is good, but not game of the year good.
There have been many similar slots in the past from different providers, so they just took an already popular concept and tweaked it a bit.
A more innovative slot should have won imo, the ideas and all the extra work that goes into coming up with something new should be rewarded.

Forgot to mention other games being shortlisted for this award:

Clover Rollover 2 by Eyecon
Congo Cash by Wild Streak Gaming
Hyper Strike by Gameburger Studios
Katmandu Gold by Elk Studios
Primate King by Red Tiger
Reactoonz 2 by Play'n GO
San Quentin xWays by Nolimit City
Take Santa's Shop by Betsoft
Twin Spin Megaways by NetEnt

*shrugs * its fun enough, but unfortunately, even playing at their Social Site, doesnt really give you a true representation because they shop out the slot at varying RTPs to different casinos that want and lease the lower RTP version.

I'm playing, and prefer, Big Fishing Fortune; maybe it too, has lower RTPs but I like the guaranteed prize in the FS/bonus :)

TBH, @dunover does a better yr end poll, and members that play slots into the ground, have a better understanding of slots ; after all, we sink deposits into them throughout the yr

They are all pretty shite aside from San Quentin and Katmandu Gold. P.S. speaking to a few developers I know and it turns out that those bloody fish games became surprisingly well played after the original Blueprint one, then the Pragmatic one was far more popular so every developer wants one, even BTG with their Golden Catch MW. Plenty more fish in the sea I fear.

If a Book Of..I dunno, fucking Turnips, wins, I'm done

The real congratulations should go to Reel Time Gaming for Fishing Frenzy; an original and well-designed slot game which has been very successful and spawned numerous clones. They are the real game designers - whose games others are then able to copy with minimal tweaks, most of the work having already been done for them.

It's a sad day and an extremely poor reflection on the industry as a whole when a slot from a parasitic game studio, which is such an obvious rip-off of an existing concept, can be celebrated in such a way. They don't drive the industry forwards in a creative capacity at all.

Elk Studios is making some great games! Nitropolis 3 is extremely entertaining and original. I haven't experienced anything quite like it before.

The shortlist should have at least included a Nitropolis title from Elk Studios instead of Katmandu Gold, IMO.

As for the winner... If it's based on popularity, yeah, Big Bass Bonanza deserves 1st place.
Pragmatic knew they had a hit on their hands too.. They QUICKLY released a Christmas version, a sequel
AND a megaways version, all within the same year.

Pragmatic paid for votes... That slot deserves to Be one of The worst with absolutely worst coding ever...

I love it. Easy to bonus, guaranteed 10x payout in the bonus as well. As they drop in so frequently, this in itself never feels a let down either.

Only thing I don’t like, and it’s clearly by design as it happens in all four versions of the game - the third scatter sound effect always plays before the scatter has actually landed. Only coding “problem” I can think of, and it’s a decision, not a bug.
