A scheme to exclude people from being able to use their local betting shop has been found to be flawed in a BBC investigation.

A reporter excluded himself from 21 betting shops in Grimsby but was able to place bets in 16.

The association of Bookmakers admits the scheme has flaws.

As if a busy person on the counter in a betting shop, particularly on a busy Saturday can remember every face of people who are banned a bit of strange idea in the first place persumably once you ban yourself from all your local ones in order to feed your addicition you just get a bus to one out of town?
