Has anyone else had trouble getting their identification documents verified at Betsson?

I followed all the instructions on their website and sent scanned documents as required and they all got rejected as they think the scanned documents might be fake, I have used these documents on a number of other casinos without any problems.

Apparently they now require all documents to be unaltered photographs, but it does not say this on their website, I got this from support when I contacted them. I find this a bit disconcerting as I don't like sending unaltered photographs of my credit cards.

You obviously used your cc to deposit with, so I don't see why you should be so afraid of sending them the same info in a picture now?

Because the CC number should be held encrypted and not available to view except by a very few authorised people, the CVV number on the back is not available to any of the staff at the casino so should be covered

You can physically cover the middle numbers of credit card, so you don't have to alter photos. Piece of paper, your fingers, etc.

I ended up doing that and they accepted the photographs.

AFAIK most, if not all, non-rogue casinos suggest that you blur out the middle 4 numbers. Just an tip for newcomers.

It seems in this case this was what caused the rejection, and this is no rogue casino either. This could indicate that the industry will start removing the right to remove things like the middle numbers and the code on the back. Players are advised to do this because the documents are often sent insecurely by email, and then often via CS, rather than direct to a trusted secure team. There have been a few cases of casinos insisting that all numbers and the 3 digit security code are visible, but these are usually the dodgy outfits. I had this BS from Winward many years ago, but they did a quick U-turn after I told them that I had phoned VISA themselves to check that this would be OK, and they said it was up to me (rather than being prohibited in the terms of use). Since VISA had told me it was OK, it seems odd that they did the U-turn over what they had regarded as "essential information" for verifying the card.

It IS a risk though where BOTH all the card numbers AND the 3 digit code on the back are sent to a third party as it removes all the security layers that protect the card from fraudulent use in "card not present" transactions.
