I think they are still in the rogue pit for a major cockup a few years ago relating to a promotion that went wrong.

Oh really ? Think I actually remember something about that will have to check. Have not made a depo yet just looking over the site. If they are still in the pit will probably have to give them a miss. Shame as the site looks impressive with some very decent looking offers. But have not yet checked the T&s of these.

Mixed review on ThePogg who did blacklist them for the 2010 debacle of locking players accounts but have since removed them from that list as it was stated they are more responsive but still a low 3 out of 10 score.

No Betafair experiences to speak of, I do hold an account with them, which I've never deposited on. Would not touch any casino that is rogue on here.

Read the report in full on here (what happened while back) so will always stick to accredited :)

Yeah and just reading elsewhere few people getting problems with cashouts with depos that had a bonus attached for using the "auto play" function on the slots. Apparently this was seen as a "robot" and not allowed by Betfair. Madness! I will give this one a miss unless others have a different pov.

Nothing much seems to have changed then since the "Happy Hour" fiasco that got them into the pit. A software provided feature is NOT a "bot". If they don't want it used, then don't provide it, simple! Where slots are concerned, the autoplay does nothing more than "click spin". It does not fulfil the usual function of a bot which is to play the game flawlessly using perfect strategy over an extended period. Bots are a big problem in Poker, but also in casinos for games such as Blackjack where the player's choices AFTER placing his initial bet can affect the overall RTP of the game.

The original fiasco was down to them running a bonus that could be claimed as many times as a player wanted within an overnight 6 hour window. The structure of the bonus also made it +EV, so the result should have been obvious from the outset.

Yep agreed but its a shame as digging around the site it seems to have everything. But no good if your gonna get screwed over in the event of reaching cash out. Wonder if being licensed by the UKGC gives players any more protection. If the happy hour "fiasco" had happened now with them being licensed by the UKGC would that have made a difference I wonder! ??

What they did to their players was despicable - one of the worst things I've ever heard of a casino doing. (Apparently they even took money back from player's bank accounts after they had paid them out :eek2:)
I will never promote them or even recommend anyone play there until they say sorry and put right what they did wrong.
It's not like they can't afford it.

Was about to deposit to take up a 200% bonus - then I read the terms read below and weep!

You are NOT allowed to do any of the following ::::

Playing equal to or more than 500 consecutive hands/spins on any game and/or playing any game consistently for a period longer than two hours while a bonus is active.

EG – You set any game to run on auto spin for 500 spins while you have an active bonus in your account and/or you play for a period of two hours or more (irrelevant of how many sessions) while you have an active bonus.

No further comment needed really  I pity the poor soul who does 501 spins to get the bonus on GOT or JP ;)

What kind of stupid t&c is that lol!

Reminds me of the dreaded 888 / Cassava group who slipped a similar term in without notifying players and confiscated over 500 of my 'hard earned' cash.

I'd take KK's and the Meisters advice on this one for sure!

It does. A UK player now has the benefit of UK law when it comes to resolving a dispute. In the event of another fiasco like the one before, the players could take Betfair to court in the UK, and would then have their case judged under UK contract law and the recent law that made gambling debts enforceable just like any other. UK consumer law does not allow predatory terms, and where terms are vague, the court will interpret them in favour of the consumer. Betfair did confiscate winnings through the sportsbook where players had transferred the money there from the casino. Since the sportsbook was licenced by the UKGC even back then, UK players who were not easily bullied did find that by going all the way to court, they got paid at the last minute in order to keep the case out of the courts. Betfair would have only done this because the advice from their legal team would have been to settle such cases quietly, rather than have a case lost in court "open the floodgates" to further claims. We STILL don't know whether in fact the court would have ruled in players' favour because Betfair was not prepared to take the risk that it would.

This does nothing for the non UK player though, and it would appear that terms are still being applied that are both predatory and rather vague.

The two hour term is vague, as it does not make clear what a player should do once their 2 hours is up but they haven't completed the WR on the bonus. We might infer that it just means a player can't simply log off and back on in order to carry on playing the same game, but it's vagueness would also allow for it to mean that a player could not continue to play at all after 2 hours, no matter how many sessions or different games were involved.

Maybe their players use autoplay to make sure they don't inadvertently break the 500 spin rule if a slot bonus round is playing hard to get, so by trying to ban it, they are trying to deprive players of one easy way to self monitor their compliance with the 500 bet limit per game.

The main difference now is that they have an arsenal of weird and wonderfully vague terms at their disposal to void a win, rather than having to invoke "spirit of the bonus" as they did in the earlier fiasco.

Yes VWM good points! And overall shows they should wallow in the dark pit for ever more unless they have a total overhaul of the terms n cons. For such a big player they probably do not care. But its insane slots are random. Auto play no auto play - 500 or 5000 spins makes no difference. The maths model of each slot will ensure the casino over time ALWAYS comes out on top. As for the UKGC it will be interesting if any real cases come before them now in regards to online casinos to see how they would react. But a player screwed out of a few 100 or even few thousand is not going to in the end go through the courts and would probably have to write of the loss and rogues like Betfair know this.

Maybe so but what about the t&c on a bonus - many a clause and have you ever spun more than 500 in under 2 hours ? or is it max 2 hours .. god knows it is complex! But glad you enjoy the place though its not for me.

I play at betfair weekly but i have no interest in bonuses.
I mostly play there when i win a big sports bet and then go play there WMS slots.
I have had several 300x wins on montezuma recently and another nice win of chariots.
Cashout time to skrill takes exactly 12 hours for me which is slow compared to guts but still faster then some other places.
