One of my friend didn't get their payment for more than 1 month after sending the statement. This is just an excuse to make their payment slowly.
It is the first time to see that a casino request original credit card statement by mail from every player after I played more than 200 online casinos

Avoid it .

below is the message I received:

Dear Mr **

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your enquiry.

As your card is non UK issued a bankers draft will need to be raised for the account balance.

In order to comply with Bet Direct security procedures, we must request an original bank statement from you, confirming your name, address and the last deposit you made to Bet Direct, the last deposit was on 07/08/05.Once this statement has been received we can raise a bankers draft for the account balance and return your bank statement to you. Any other information contained on the bank statement can be blanked out if you prefer. This statement can be requested from your bank if you do not already hold a copy. Any charges for this will be reimbursed, upon a valid receipt.

Please send this document to:
BET DIRECT INTERNET
DEACON PARK
MOORGATE ROAD
KNOWSLEY
LIVERPOOL
L33 7RL

Please do not send a photocopy of this document,as our security department will not accept it.

I apologise for any inconvenience.

Regards
Joanne

Hmm this is strange. Bet Direct are a legit organisation, being part of Littlewoods. I guess they have been getting a lot of chargebacks from US and other customers based outside the UK and require as a result original documents now, to protect themselves against future chargebacks.

Although this is going to not help them increase their Customer Base outside the UK.

Yeah, this sounds strange to me also. I would be very reluctant to send an ORIGINAL bank statement to anyone, let alone a gambling company. There's no guarantee they won't lose it or worse.

All they need to see is name, address, and last deposit to Bet Direct... If you block out everything else with a sharpie or whiteout so they can't read through it...

i doubt it is to do with chargebacks, it more than likely that this guy has used a mastercard, as such he cant recieve his winnings back to his card. most uk casinos & sportsbook will insist on some kind of documentation if the funds cant be returned to the original source.

Scans or copies yes. Original Documents definately not normally required.
Indeed. That was the point I was trying to make. It might be something to do with them paying by 'bankers draft'. A bankers draft, in effect, is a pre-paid cheque. I'm wondering if gambling88 asks for cheque (check) payment then the bank statement requirement might be waived ?!
