Belle Rock playing games with Scratch Card Promotion

I've given up on trying to talk to their customer service after days of trading emails and figured I'd bring it up here. In the month of July Belle Rock had a promotion where you wagered a certain amount to get scratch cards for possible prizes. They had a no purchase necessary segment where if you sent a survey to their office in Gibraltar, you would be credited with a free scratch card(limit 5). Well, I figured what the hell and sent off 5 to see if I could win something. This was about 5 weeks ago. It only takes 4-7 days for mail to get from the states to Gibraltar, yet they say they have no scratch cards creditted to me. Everyone that I have spoken to says the same thing.....sent them in a month or more ago, still nothing. It strikes me that Belle Rock made this program and then is either A) nothing going to do it or B) send it a day before they expire. Their customer service most of the time has no clue what I'm talking about or gives me very wrong information. Has anyone else had problems even getting Belle Rock to have a clue what you are talking about?

Spain is preparing to invade Gibraltar while the British military is over-extended in operations in Iraq. Belle Rock personel might've gotten wind of this, and secretly moved (hence the reason why customer service "appears" to have no clue!) the scratch cards to a more secure location, and will distribute them at later date, when they are certain it is safe to do so.

LMAO!

I saw that promos many times and thought it was stupid so I totally ignored it. If they want to give us stuffs, give them already and don't entice us into all these stupid draws that most people are not going to get anything anyway.

BelleRock flat out sucks. I've held my tongue on this group for a little while now, but they are no 'supergroup'. They are nothing more than a conglomeration of casinos under one banner, but they really have NO clue as to how to run a good casino group. Fortune Lounge has it right, and BelleRock could learn ALOT from them. FL understands the concepts of VIP & highroller players, BelleRock has NO clue whatsoever about such things. Deposit $1 or $1000 and you get treated the same there, with total indifference.

And they are completely clueless when it comes to support, particularly with regards to these games. They continuously sent out the wrong links in their emails from showdown casino, apparently not knowing their own domain name! They sent things out in newsletters and even their message of the day with the domain 'showdown.com' instead of showdowncasino.com. As such, the links never worked right unless you corrected them manually in your browser. Now recently they had this contest where you had to purchase and wager certain amounts, then send in your best game tip to win. Did that, sent in what I thought was a great tip, and didn't hear squat from them. They didn't even announce who won that one and more importantly what their winning tip was!

If you're a regular player, stick with FL. They know how to take care of regular players. BelleRock talks a great game, looks cool, but that's where it ends.

Agree

Yeah, i also think bellerock is not so good group. They seem clueless, and support usually takes several days by email, if it works at all.
Sometimes they just ignore your emails, and if they dont ignore, its usually of no help at all.
Also another thing that comes to mind is that they used to be the most generous group of casinos around. Now they have tightened their bonuses to 20x deposit and bonus with a 100% match, that you can play only on slots.
The only casino offering a decent promo from the group is luckynugget with 400% match. This one is also on slots, but its still an ok promo.
I mean, 20x deposit and bonus is barely ok, but withouth videopoker or some table games, it just plain sucks.

I play at thegamingclubpoker.com which is a part of bell rock. I don't know how big of a part, but I haven't had any problems with them at all. I've gotten a few of those scratch cards last month and the bell rock cards are almost impossible to win. I think you had to get 4 out of 16 exactly right to win.

Anyways, I don't see what the big problem here is, you didn't get something for free?

have to say a very bad group of casinos in terms of offering bonuses
...."Win a share of 77777 credits.." yeah right

How do we know this guy is not an imposter or is really from this casino group?

Bryan, are there any checks on people who register and claiming to be coming from such and such casinos?

I know Bryan does send a note to casino groups when an issue is raised about them, and he probably checks on these aliases to make sure they are legit when they register. That being said, being cautious about giving out personal info is always a good idea.

I really don't care about them at this point(they expire in a matter of days now). However, out of everyone I know that mailed in the surveys to Gibraltar, not a single one has received the free cards. It's very irritating when the group completely fails to follow through with something broadly advertised on their site. Even if I pm you my details, and I get my 5 cards, what about everyone else who sent in the surveys?

To answer your question, yes I monitor these things - checking email addresses - IPs etc.

But it's good you are cautious.

sw 2003 makes a sound point, but I think this poster is on the level and genuinely trying to get this sorted out - I contacted BelleRock and directed them to this thread.

Hi Largeeyes,

I am unable to find out what went wrong without a starting point. With your details I can track the problem, find the survey and determine at what point the wheels fell off. This will hopefully allow us to rectify the problem for everybody affected. Without your details this is simply hearsay, and I cannot act on any of it. Did your survey arrive in the post? Without your details I do not know. Did the instruction (re scratch cards for surveys received) to our customer service provider go missing? Again, without your details I do not know.

We pride ourselves on caring for our customers, and it seems that some of you have had bad experiences. Unfortunately errors do occur and mistakes are made, we will however make every effort to correct these if and when they are brought to our attention. We do monitor the message boards when we can, and player advocates like Bryan and Jetset also bring these issues to our attention, so if you have a bad experience please let us know.

Best regards,

Belle Rock

BelleRock,

lets start with the winners of the Showdown Casino promotion from earlier this month where you had to deposit & wager a certain amount and then email your best game tip. The person (persons??) who submitted the best game tip were to win $1,777. I have yet to hear who the winner was and what their tip was.

Tips

I heard that a Mr. Rob U. Blind won and his tip was "don't gamble here"

Just trying to be funny. Don't take my remark seriously

Thanks for the PM Largeeyes, I will try and have feedback ASAP.

JPM, I am looking into the Showdown Casino promo as well. I am not sure what the problem with the URLs was, as both www.showdown.com and www.showdowncasino.com point to the same place. Try it again, and let me know what error message you get.

Rgds,

Belle Rock

Hi,

I have found the problem, and yes it did affect a few other people who have also been identified.
Unfortunately the mail to Gibraltar has taken longer than was expected and a number of surveys arrived after the promotion had closed on 31 July 2004. As a result these entries were not processed, hence no communication and no scratch cards. That said however, this was not the fault of the players, and we will honor all entries received, provided they were posted during July (as indicated by the post mark on the envelope) and provided they adhered to the terms and conditions. This leads to the second problem, the brand scratch cards are not valid for much longer, and in order to overcome this we will issue those entries that qualify with two Belle Rock Gaming scratch cards (valid until the end of November 2004) and not a brand scratch card. Those of you who have not heard from us but have posted surveys during July please be patient and we will mailing you shortly. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Here is the part that you will not like Largeeyes. You did not qualify because you did not adhere to the terms and conditions that stated that a copy of a photo identification must be included with the survey, something which you failed to provide.
We are however grateful that you brought this problem to our attention, and we have credited one of your accounts with a bonus showing our appreciation. You will receive a mail in this regard shortly.

JPM, I am still waiting for confirmation, but it seems that the Showdown Casino promotion winners will be announced at the end of this month, along with the winning tips.

Best Regards,

Belle Rock

Sorry JPM, I was a bit hasty with the information about Showdown Casino. The promo winner had been drawn and her name published on 16 Aug 2004. The results were published in the "message of the day" in the casino software. Her tip was "Always wager full amount of bet. When a big wins comes, it will cover your losses, but if the win comes when you have dropped down your bet, you will not be ahead."

Best regards,

Belle Rock

Thanks for finding that info for me BelleRock. It may have been published in the message of the day then, but that function was not working at the time. I had to notify support that there was a problem with the message of the day (related to the domain issue I mentioned previously) and it was fixed sometime thereafter. Both domains do seem to work now.

Of course I believe that mine was still a better tip, but that's a different discussion altogether.

I am very glad to hear things have been worked out. I know I posted mine in the middle of july at the US Postal service says Gibraltar takes 3-7 days. I guess something held things up. I'm glad other players got their cards as well. I guess in reading all the rules I missed the most obvious on the front page with the photo ID requirement. I was just being kind and not making you look at my ugly mug 5 times ;)

Perhaps you can tell us just how long it DID take for our post to get to the lovely island of Gibraltar?
