Just a heads up for FPS fans..

Already posted this in the 'Gamers' Group, but as not everyone can read that figured i would post it here too:)

EA has just launched the beta for Battlefield 1..

If you hadn't yet heard of it here's the demo:

It's free, and if you have decent PC or an Xbox1 you can play it.
Here's the download link:

I was able to check it out a bit, and it looked and fealt awesome to play!
Unfortunately my current vid card is not really up for the task, as when things got lively, my pc immediately crashed

But some of you may have some more fun with it!

Thanks for the heads up, been interested in trying this out. Hopefully I can tear myself away from Overwatch for long enough to test it. :D

If I had slightly more time I would love to spend some time with gaming again. Looks great!

Never really was a FPS fan but after loving Titanfall and the recent Doom reboot I am willing to consider this.

Open betas are a good idea for devs and gamers as it allows feedback before the game is out.

I'm quite old-school in that I don't want to ruin the experience for myself before the game is released, but as Battlefield is quite a renowned franchise, I might have a cheeky look. If I get whupped by some 12 year old French kid I'll just blame the unfinished beta!

Have plated BF Series for Years... ran our own Clan for a long time too, ahh Great Days of Old.

We are waiting for this BF to come out, partner and I, and my son too is quite interested.

At the moment, my partner (fiance) and I are playing World Of Warcraft, the new expansion just came out recently, so playing it a bit, time permitted... enjoying it too

but depending on finances definitely want to play the new BF coming out.

Well, if you follow that link i posted you can participate in the Beta testing! That may not be the ultimate gaming experience the game will deliver quite yet, but it is free, and still pretty amazing:)

I know about beta testing, did it for many expansions in WoW and also in I think it was BF2
My son was doing the beta test for BF, I thought I would wait and stay with the surprise of it all, and not feel burnt our when it is released.

Looking forward to it though, I like FPS !!!

Wish that I had more time to play. If I did then maybe I would be able to play games more! I do miss the days that I would spend all day gaming.

It's overkill now. Even before the advent of mobile gaming, one would need about five lifetimes just to play every game released in full, that's before you get into the complex strategy games just on PC alone.

And console gaming is just off the hook, there's something new coming out every five minutes! I'm still grinding through Dark Souls 3 but I doubt I've even made it 50% through.

Too many games, games too large and not enough time!

That is very true, and it's a total downside to all the new games that are coming out. But, I think the problem with all these games they keep making all the time is that they just aren't that good anymore. I mean they don't put in the time like they used to. They just keep trying to release these new games so that they can make some money.

That is the case, games are flooding the market on a multitude of platforms that fail as a product but make players want to make in-game purchases etc, at the expense of good gameplay.

Even supposed triple-A releases are being rushed and released in an unfinished state, knowing the game is broken. Developers will then make day 1 patches to correct the problems wheras back in the day the games were self-contained and developers took their time making them.

So even with something like Battlefield 1, the game will be released buggy and unplayable (especially online), and be devoid of features so that developers can add features on during the game's 'lifetime' (maps, weapons, pay-to-win perks) and so it becomes harder to look forward to today's games really.

Just look at No Man's Sky. It was supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread but gamers feel so cheated they've taken the case to OFCOM!

Yes, No Man's Sky is the perfect example. It was supposed to be a really awesome game and then it just tanked. I heard that there were people who were playing online and they met on the same planet and they couldn't see each other. Now, the developers won't even talk to anyone who is messaging them about the game. It's sad because it could have been a very good game.
