Hey guys

I'm baaaack ;-) Its been a strange and busy summer and you may have noticed I've not been around a lot, just doing the odd reported post mod and briefly keeping an eye on things. But now I have some time back and as you may have noticed from Meister's recent post, I'm now officially the "linkmeister", keeping an eye on sigs and links along with the normal stuff.

I think the sig rules have been laid out clearly, not too strict and really designed to ensure players get solid info and not lead up garden paths. But if anyone has any questions, wants me to look over any sig links for suitability or stuff along those lines, just drop me a PM.

Look forward to being active again :)

Cheers

Simmo, I watched a J Todd video back a few weeks ago where he was basically promoting/advertising the two websites that are in your sig there. Oggs and Casinotabs, but he was also referring to them now being owned by some guy named Soloman? What's the story there...

What does O.G.G.S. stand for anyway, is it an acronym for something?

They were originally my sites but I sold them. I consulted for them for a while after, just hadn't got round to changing the sig :) The JT video was done after my involvement finished so no info there.

And OGGS doesn't stand for anything. I bought the domain when I was in the music business - I speculated that the technically superior Ogg Vorbis codec might gazump MP3 eventually but I was wrong. Not because it isn't better, but because too many people had invested too much in MP3 for it to fail. At least Fraunhofer are laughing all the way to the bank :D

Thanks for the info mate, no need to remove the sigs on my account though...I was just curious what had happened..:)

Interesting story on the Ogg Vorbis codec

Haha... nice try. I wasn't investing in domains back then, but I had actually built an MP3 jukebox just about the same time TouchTunes came out. I didn't have the kind of marketing funds they did and we hadn't selected a cabinet yet, so in the end I dropped the project. But I ended up using Fraunhofer's implementation as well.

Just like Betamax and VHS... Betamax was way superior but too many companies spent too much money on backing the VHS standard.

When did that happen? :what:
I have a back-link to OGGS on my homepage because I thought it was your site!
Have you got another site you'd like me to replace it with?

But anyway, great to see you back on board - my favorite Blue Muppet! :notworthy

KK

Absolutely, which you were and still are of course...:D

LOL - I was referring to your website Rob :D

Well at any rate welcome back...
But anyway, great to see you back on board

Thanks

Thanks KK - very good of you to have added it. From an SEO perspective, you should make sure you link to sites or pages that are relevant to yours and useful to your readership, so if Oggs still meets that criteria, I'd keep it there. It's also a fairly trusted site (in Google's eyes) so it will do you no harm.

Linkmeister can you sort my signature out please. I appear to be linking to Casinomeister in them  :D

Hmm - sounds well dodgy. Gonna put my traffic warden hat on!

Has VHS reached Thailand yet? Its very good you know.
