Just giving heads up, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but it just " broke" in the bitcoin community that Australia will be banning it.

Thanks for the tip. Now I understand why I'm having trouble with ewallet registrations.
I just blew 1500 au at Videoslots because they have no way of paying me now. Deposited 50.00 ten days ago at VS and worked that up to 500 and tried to withdraw but suddenly without notice they had removed the skrill button as they stopped me doing bank transfers about a month earlier and my Visa card bank (anz)will not allow casino deposits. So my only alternative is Bitcoin. But here's the problem, I don't have a bitcoin account so back and forth emails from VS support they had said get a bitcoin account so I successfully opened a Blockchain account but can't get verified with Cubits as they don't accept Australian passports as id. The webcam chat verification was closed after he saw my aussie passport and they have not responded to two tickets of inquiry, as how to get verified but just completely ignored getting back to me. So I can't purchase bitcoins to fund my casino playing money.
So with my 500.au I can't withdraw I just decided it was dead money already to me but over the next 5 days it increased to 1500. au with no hope of cashing out so I just went ballistic on much higher bets and lost the lot, well now I don't have the problem of trying to withdraw it but rather angry that Videoslots couldn't find a solution to paying me.
After all I play allot there sometimes depositing up to 500 au per week over the year and half I've played there.
Bottom line is no point depositing anymore if I can't get paid should I win. I love VS and am annoyed and angry with the nanny state government dictating how and where I spend my money. So my 50. deposit turned into a 1500. loss with no cashout method.
Ps bebo67 do you have a link where I can read the article.
Thanks heaps mina1929.Hi azzagirt
I have Coinjar where I buy bitcoin, its Australian focused and then I transfer it to Blockchain.
Coinjar is good but you have to buy bitcoin by paying with Bpay they will send you all info after verifying you.
I have won at Videoslots withdrew to Blockchain and then to Coinjar from Coinjar to my bank which only took about 2 days
I hope this helps, if you have any questions feel free to ask as I am new to Bitcoin as well I am still learning

I remember when I first started online, one of the wallets took Canadian Banks to court for the exact reason and they won. I agree, people should be fighting back!Look at the way its being relayed by the Australian Banks, its clear there is no formal legislation in place to justify freezing the accounts, they are just chancing their arm (and blatantly acting under Government instruction) awaiting legislation to come into place - watch this space. I dont know why the public there (and some of the Bitcoin wallet portals) dont pool together some resources and mount a formal legal defense - its outrageous.
Too many powerful bodies that monopolise the economy feeling threatened there. The same happened with the online Casinos to protect the cronyism of the landbased casinos that have dominated gaming there for decades. Canada’s gone down the same route already for the same reasons.
Disgrace.
At VS I can deposit by M/C and chat assured me I can withdraw to Bitcoin. Just waiting to try. Might be todayDo you need to deposit to Videoslots via bitcoin before they allow it as a withdrawal option ?
I managed a withdrawal a couple of months ago from Joe Fortune to a GreenAddress bitcoin wallet (no ID required on the green address wallet). I had never deposited via Bitcoin at this casino prior to this withdrawal.
From there I deposited to my Neteller via Bitcoin and requested a withdrawal to my bank account from Neteller with no issues.
I believe the ID is required to purchase bitcoin using AUD though when using exchanges which is where you seem to have ran into the problem you have.
I can deposit with Norwegian visa on all casino, but not to neteller account with visa after the new law began.Australians should just open an account with Entropay. There you get a virtual VISA card which is registered in Malta which you can deposit and withdraw from. Its very popular in Norway where they also have problems with payments to casinos. It works as a normal VISA, the money on your VISA is stored on an e-wallet.

Update,
as I don't see an edit button now for my previous post.
I have been made aware I was given the wrong information regarding myself depositing with M/card and being able to withdraw via Bitcoin.
This is not the case.
I would need to deposit via Bitcoin to withdraw via Bitcoin and need to be verified for that also.
