Q&A Ask Me Anything about Slots (AMA) 2020 with Trancemonkey

Hi all

As the other thread ( Ask me anything (about slots)!),has grown in size to the point where going through it for anyone new would be tedious at best, and impossible at worst, I thought it might be a good idea to start another one.

Let's try and keep this to new members who want to ask someone who works in the industry making games any questions they have OR the usual bunch IF you have new questions or discussions.

So, people, once again - Ask Me Anything :)
hi
a lot of slot providers never show their Bonus RTP? I think DOA2 is about 25% Bonus RTP, is 25% include on their real RTP 96% - 25%= 71% RTP?
BTG Bonus RTP looks like under 20%

For UK players I can tell you that NLC run around the 60% mark!!

Anything made by Netbent, play n lose, Microscamming and especially Bent Tiger will without doubt be on around the 90% mark. Of course anything attached to a jackpot will give it the ability to be around the 86% mark.

Doesn’t matter how the RTP is split/works it just means you’ll get fucked over in record time.

If anybody wants some slot suggestions to really brain out on drop me a PM.

I am sure they do not show coz is way too low,

If you had a high RTP assigned to the bonus round, let's say 90%, I don't think people would be too happy with the 6% left for the base game.

They've arrived at these ratios because it's what people respond to, not arbitrarily.

well BTG claims to have random RTP, most of their games play like 6% RTP, when they say random RTP is that means 1000 spins on very low RTP, and lucky players will do 100 spins get 96% RTP

no, it means sometimes you'll be above 96%, and sometimes you'll be below 96% for any given number of spins, but the larger the amount of spins the closer you will get to 96%.
keep in mind even with 99% rtp you will still eventually lose all your money given enough spins.

No they have not told you that the games does not have a preset RTP. The games would not be certifiable if they did not have a set RTP.

They do however obviously use a RNG and you are not guaranteed to have 96% on your specific session.

This thread, which was supposed to explain in deep all the procedures and standards of making fair and honest slots, has ended in absolute farce.
Well, it wasn't ever anything of the sort really; it was trance, who enjoys (or well, did) being here, answering some Qs for members where able and willing, as he works in the industry but doesnt represent his place of work here.

Has it? It was always an AMA, and I've answered (or Halvor or someone has of late) all questions asked of me. If you have other questions to ask, please do so, and I'll do my best to answer them

We have determined that it is rigged. Theee end.:p
But seriously, was thinking about trance lately and wondering where he is and how he is doing? :)
I still stop by occasionally.. it got to the point where the same people were constantly asking the same questions, or ignoring the answers, so honestly I got kinda bored.

If people have new, interesting questions or discussions, then I'm happy to come back more :)

I wanted Trance to explain the mysteries of the universe and life on top of explaining slots, rng etc...so I'm miffed on at least one score 🤔 :p
I can try, but I'm an opinionated fat guy who is a staunch atheist, hates people that do they wokey-cokey, and writes music. ;)

Hello. Does fun play use the same RNG (on same casino) as real play?

I like to play fun play at times when I'm at my monthly gambling limit, and while I do think they're absolutely not rigged or anything, I'm just generally interested. I've looked at the network tab and some slots have the same URL (server?) in both real and fun play, some slots have a different one. Does this mean anything?

I tried to look this up on the internet but had a tough time finding any information. As far as I understand they need to mimic how the real game works, but at the same time, if the RNG is different than results would also vary.

I've been playing Dog House for a month without a 1000x, and today morning hit it in the fun play. That said I lost 700x before that so can't be mad, but I'm still curious if I would've got that same hit pressing spin at that same time on the real play.

Thank you.

if a seeded slot prng on a state/provincial networked large progressive jackpot generates 1000 numbers a second ,60000 a minute or 3600000 a hour ,am i correct in assuming that grand prize is probably associated with only one random number in the cycle of millions ,lets say 36000000 in this case. then depending where the prng is in the cycle it would take 10 hours to generate every number in the cycle and in this case the grand prise number being weighted in the cycle only once every 10 hours . meaning a player would have to play that particlar slot for 10 hours sraight to even have a 1000 a second chance of hitting the random number associated with that prize
if what i suggest is correct then could the slot maker rig the machine to protect that number algorithmically by resetting the seed cycle when the winning get to close in the cycle of generation to the big kahuna mumber or could they generated several low paying bonus game cycles to protect certain numbers as the prng keeps running as a bonus game plays out?

thank for taking my question

In the UK, it has to. In other markets, i'm not so sure. I know that some manufacturers definitely run different maths on free play than real money, but how many of the "big guys" do, i'm not sure

PRNG's are cycled (or at least should be cycled!) in order to stop them being predictable - the cycle should really work on cycle which is also non-constant (i.e takes a different amount of time to update). However, while in theory you could either ignore or reset the seed value if you knew what RNG output was going to award the top prize, any reputable company would get caught doing this, as the test-labs would see that the top award was never paid, and this would fail compliance. Also, the game wouldn't run to the correct RTP if it was ignoring outcomes.

In reply to: test-labs would see that the top award was never paid, and this would fail compliance. , not in this instance:
