Are Betway Ok??

I opened an account with Betway and won £1700 on Saturday which I withdrew. I forwarded them the relevant documents as required and instead of paying me out they have reversed the money back to my account. I had received an email saying they had my documents but they emailed me saying I now have to wait another 48 hours on my papers being verified. I have read a lot of bad reports about Betway online and am now seriously worried about getting this money back and want to know can you help me? I am worried sick that I may end up losing my money as I have never came across a bookmaker this slow before. Help !!

I'm pretty sure you'll get paid but it might be a little slower than you'd like. Just try to be patient - usually the first withdrawal at any casino takes a little longer. Also I think the whole group also has a 48 hour pending period so even once your docs are approved you might have to wait a couple MORE days.

They have a rep here if you wanted to try to send them a private message. I'm not sure if it would speed things up or not though.

I had this exact same situation with Hippodrome Online, who are part of Betway.

There was a 48 hour pending time - and then another 48 period to 'review documents', but they did pay after that.

Thanks Irmster, I just think if a bookmaker can take your money in seconds it's a bit disrespectful to expect the customer to wait almost 10 days for his money to return to his account.

They sent me an email saying the payment was sent on Thursday 6th June then this morning Saturday the 8th they have said the transaction bounced back. Please avoid these people at all costs if you don't want to lose your money!!

From where?

This would happen if the destination details were wrong. A simple typo in a bank wire withdrawal would cause it, and if it bounced back, there is nowhere else than to put it back into your account.

As well as getting the documents verified, check that the withdrawal details were correct, and then whether the destination account had reason to send the money back.

If you try again with the same details, it would probably bounce back again, and that would be another 48 hours wasted, if not more.

The bank details are correct ok as I made a deposit after it. One person is telling me it's still in transit whilst another hasn't a clue and said they still have the funds. Plus instead of paying me the £1700 in one go they are paying it back in 5 payments of £200, £100, £200, £500, £200 and the balance. I find that also totally weird, I am reporting this company to Sky Sports who advertised them and also to the Apple store to try and get their apple app banned.

What is your final verdict? Are they terrible or awesome?

Did they ask you to 'adjust' your position on this forum in order to get your payments moving?

If they are sticking to their plan of splitting the payments as you described that is pretty bad IMO unless they are all being done on the same date.

Surely sending it back in 6 chunks is more expensive for a business who would be charged on a "per transaction" basis, and for no obvious benefit given that this was a bank transfer, not a card refund. For an industry that is "feeling the pinch", they are not as efficient as they could be. Not only this, such a repayment is puzzling to the recipient, who might wonder "what are they up to", even where the answer is "nothing at all to the players' detriment".

It is no good complaining to Sky Sports either. A misleading advertisement should be reported to the ASA no matter where it appears.

It is even possible the fault lies with your bank, but that they are trying to wriggle out of admitting liability by passing the buck to Betway and their banking partners.

I dont like betway, promotions are bad and support is not the best.
