We are long time Biloxi players, used to go to the Grand but for the last several years (post Katrina) we stay at the Beau. Usually do well, and they comp us for everything. Anyway, just for a change of pace we have made reservations at one of their sister properties, the Gold Strike in Tunica. They are comping us and providing all meals and even some freeplay. Just wondered if anyone has been there. It doesn't look quite as nice as the Beau but there is more to do in the area for my non-gambling husband, and we have friends who have moved to Memphis who we will see while we are there. Like to hear pros and cons from anyone who has been there recently, think they just finished a renovation. Thanks.

Do a search as I know Mousey and I, (maybe Robwin also), have both posted about it.:)....It's not even close to being like The Rivage!!

I used to love playing and staying at Gold Strike, havent been in awhile but used to go almost every weekend before i took up with internet gaming:oops:

Its a beautiful building 31 stories if im not mistaken and next door is Horseshoes, Nashvegas's favorite haunt;)

We always liked to play at the Fitz and Sam's Town as i have won more money at both of those casinos.
Hope you have a great time as i know you will , Tunica , Ms is the gaming mecca of the south and a wonderful place to visit. Memphis also has some great places to visit as well, so much to do and see in that area and something always is going on.

Darem1, this couple year old thread has some good (and not so good info) https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/tunica-mississippi.19634/

L J mentions some of the things to do in Memphis, moi mentions a few things your hubby may enjoy in Tunny including golf et al, also there is a skeet shooting range, an outlet mall, the Horseshoe next door to GS (approx. a 20 yard walk) has an excellent buffet btw which I never would have given a chance if my Dad had not raved about.

IIRC, I posted in another thread about the GS renovation along with an article that was in Casino Player and included an interview the new GS big guy aka head of management on the renovation.

My bad on not mentioning L J and Brianzz whom I knew posted about Tunny often but did not recall their past GS posts from memory.

We were in Tunica Saturday..went to Gold Strike, Horseshoe, Harrah's. It was fun..made my donation and left a few places to try next time!

Love It

I have been to GoldStrike many times in the past, along with Harrah's (use to be), Sam's Town and Horseshoe. I've been to Grand and Fitzgerald's, but I never had much luck at those. It has been over ten years since I have been but they are only about 3 1/2 hours from me. You can't go wrong with the free nights, food and free money they give you. It's kind of like having a mini vacation. Oh my gosh...how I need one of those!:D

Gold Strike has renovated all their rooms and the casino floor. They've always been tight in my opinion, you either win your ass off or lose miserably, no middle ground, although they have saved my trip twice when I happened in just to play a few machines.

There's some pics of the new rooms, suites and the old suites here:

Thanks for the help on Goldstrike

Thanks to all who responded to my question about the Goldstrike. We wanted to wait until all the renovations had been completed before we went,
supposed to be getting a small suite. I looked at the pictures and they look great! Wish us luck. I STILL miss my online gambling.
