Any experts on the Napoleon game?

Ok most games I find reasonably easy to follow the payouts or subconsciously work them out through repetitive play. However Napoleon is a game I haven’t really got to grips with understanding properly. I had a go on it this evening and had a few nice hits

However during the bonus at the bottom of this page I had 4 wilds lined up. 2 wilds and a soldier pays around x250 so I was expecting something pretty big off 4 wilds. The overall result was about x 40 and pretty much all of it came off that 1 spin as the others were dead bar about 1 other for 40p (or around there). I thought I must have been mistaken and they weren’t a line but I checked the payout and line 18 proves they were a winning line. Just to clarify if you number each of the 15 symbols. 1 to 15. Top to bottom and work left to right so reel 1 is 1,2,3, reel 2 is 4,5,6 and so on. The wilds were in positions 1, 6, 7 and 12 (at the apexes of a W with the top right missing). I noticed a 9 came in that position and locked and I am wondering if it counted as 5OAK 9’s. Knowing most games it pays highest win only but 4 wilds counting as 4 soldiers would pay a lot more. I can only find very limited rules on this game and I play on a mobile so the feature isn’t recorded. Just hoping someone can clear it up for me. Sorry if it’s not well explained but please ask me if you don’t understand what I have written. Not that it helps but here’s the end result

It will have counted the 5oak 9's and it has some strange paylines.

Would need to see the screen to be certain of anything

Yes that must be what happened. Another thing I have noticed is occasionally the multiplier that is shown after the win has said x25,000. What’s that about? I can only see x16 as the max on the help page.

I have seen it on a few occasions and twice last night. There was a glitch aswell. I had a small win and before I pressed spin the random feature popped up. Having not seen this before I assumed it was part of a feature and it was going to multiply my win or something but no it locked the four wilds that were on the screen then the game froze. I had to reload it. If a line of 4 wilds doesn’t count as the highest symbol unless it makes up the other 1/5 of the line, what about a line of 5 wilds. Would that pay nothing.

Must admit it's still a slot that i can never really work out the pays...amount of times i've been like 'oh thats 40 quid and then it comes in at 350' In a good way

I only play on a mobile and the help pages are very basic to say the least don’t know if it’s any different on other devices. Having looked at the pay table again it gives x1,200 as the value for 4 wilds but chose to pay me 5OAK 9’s at x80.

By making the game so wildly erratic and volatile it decides to skip some wins altogether

It could have definitely done with a few billion more spins in playtesting

Again looking at it if it doesn’t recognise 4 wilds as being a higher win than 4 wilds and a 9 why is there a pay table for wilds because by my reckoning you can’t hit 2,3, or 4 wilds because the pay lines dictate that you will always connect with another symbol? Even accounting for scatter blockers.

Sorry snorks, I'm more an expert on the battle of waterloo than this game, though after it's success I'm waiting for the possible sequels/ clones: duke of Wellington, Marshall Ney and Blücher

The spin button does have an awful glitch where it sticks then does a hyper fast spin as you try to unstick it not a good thing for a low roller like myself to experience, like accidently pressing that damned max stake button on netent when you're nodding off in the chair.

You’d still be a million miles ahead of me. I am dinosaur. Apart from the line in question I couldn’t be sure of the rest. The line I had was win line 18 and it read reels 1,2,3,4 wild in position and reel 5 a 9 in position. Most games pay highest win only but this appears to have payed lowest win only.

If you did get 4 wilds on the same payline during a bonus and the end result of said bonus was 82x, then only one thing makes sense.
You must have got a 9 or a 10 on the 5th reel.

In which case, you didn't actually get paid for a 4OAK of wilds. You got paid for a 5OAK of 9s (or 10s) at 16x multiplier.
4OAK of wilds - 1200 coins. 5OAK of 9s or 10s, at 16x = 1280 coins (80 x 16).
A Q or J instead of a 9 or 10 would have meant a payout of 2,560 coins (160 x 16).
Therefore, any symbol from J upwards has to be ruled out as a possibility.

Napoleon is a strange game in that a 2OAK of wilds can actually be better than the 3OAK or 4OAK. A 2OAK (in most cases) will guarantee at least 2 wins,
possibly as many as 7 wins if you get a stacked wild on one of the first 2 reels.
Stick a solider or ship symbol on the next reel and that win skyrockets way more than what a 3rd wild might do. It all depends on the first non-wild symbol in the payline.

The more I think about it, you've had the horrible misfortune of getting a 4OAK of wilds on the worst payline possible, which is line 18. That is the only payline where you can get a 4OAK of wilds, but not get any 2OAKs of wilds on the other paylines. For example, getting just 2 wilds on the first two reels of Line 1 would actually give you 3 x 2OAKs of wilds, which pays the same as a 4OAK of wilds.

You've been very unlucky. You basically got the biggest close but no cigar troll job you could have not wished for.

It is true my artworks are highly sought the world over from paris to new york, so there is a long waiting list for requests, but I don't like to disappoint 'keen' fans who know good art when they see it however I have to feel inspired to paint...Just send me a couple of hundred grand to get the ball rolling

I often take multiple screenshots during free game features just in case I need to look back and check something. If you have W10 OS you can use WindowsKey+printscreen to take loads of screengrabs one after the other, and they get saved to a folder in your Pictures folder. Might be an idea to try this next time in case you wish to look back afterwards
