Hey fellas!

I'll be in Amsterdam in November and wanted to know what you guys believe is best to visit (aside from any casinos which I'm sure y'all are experienced enough in).

Any suggestions? Oh and the main answers like Red Like District are known already of course.. (Goatwack, I'm expecting you to repeat it as an answer anyhow ;) )

Thanks in advance!

There is a decent Merkur casino on Regulierbreestraat and possibly the best one is the one I visit with CM members at Holland Casino but you pay 5 Euro to get in, and it's a short taxi ride out of town to La Guardiaweg 61. This has WMS, Novo, IGT the lot.

Numerous museums like the Torture Museum, Sex Museum and for your album make sure you get photographed by the Homo Monument...:laugh::laugh:

Depends if you're going alone or with a partner. Highly recommend the RLD on Friday and Saturday nights, big queues for the shows but you have to see them once in your life!

Holland Casino is great, progressive jackpots of several million euros and a smoking area too. Have to pay for drinks and can be pricey.

Ann Frank House, river cruise and the swing in the sky all great too.

You may want to check out Paradiso, a popular venue close to the Leidscheplein. There's

for an overview of upcoming concerts, with links to a site where you can buy the tickets. You also need a €3.50 membership card which you can buy after you've ordered the tickets.

Hope you'll have lots of fun!

Go play the mini golf in Amstel Park (Used to be called Midget Golf until 2017!).
I always go there when I go to AAC

Try their pancakes with savoury toppings - Yummy! ;)

Yes the Holland Casinos are the state controlled casinos and have all the good slots to offer from the big brands, as Dunover already said. But you pay an entry fee and you pay for your snacks and drinks.
All other places are considered "amusement halls" and the plus at these places is that entry is normally FREE and food and drinks also, they go round with drinks and snacks and you can get whatever you like. Slots have lesser max payouts of course but you can still win amounts of a couple of 100 or if lucky a couple of 1000 Euro's.
Most slots in the amusement halls these days are from Novo (Multi Games), Barcrest,Bally,Astra Games and some good old BFM slots.

Also the Hard Rock Cafe is nice at Max Euweplein ... Give it a go when you are there ... Nice grub too!

Stroopwafel. Didn’t manage a hot fresh one, but the packaged ones are pretty tasty.

Hahaha everyone loves the Stroopwafel.
Even here in Ireland, when I bring them over from The Netherlands they are gone in seconds.

Best though, are the fresh ones on the markets where they put the fresh warm caramel between the waffles so when you eat it the stroopwafel is nice and warm and gooey.

Tip, the ones from the local shop, put them in the microwave for 10-12 seconds.
It will make them much nicer.

Rembrandtplein, club Smokeys and have a look at the HQ of Booking.com - roll one (or buy a pre-prepaired one) and ask yourself: Would this trip with Booking.com be cheaper or not...

Jokes a side, there is a lot to do in Amsterdam. Not sure about your personality but there is either the Heineken museum or the Anne Frank house.

As for casinos, I dont know you avg bet but the "hall" kind of casinos offer no table games and have slot with restrictions. Less to no restrictions can be found in the Holland Casino (or The Ludo). Yes you do pay 5 Euro entry fee :(

I don't have an average bet :D I work in igaming so I don't gamble much haha (10 euro every few months for "market research") .. Might try a few euros at Holland Casino but doubt I'll be any good at it :).

Thanks for all the info guys and gals! I'll try to get some pictures for all.

Hey Jan, what do you mean by restrictions?
Most multiplayer slots can pay up to 1600-2000 Euro's if you are lucky that is. :)

Red and Green Peppers - Pays up to 8000x in a single spin which is €1600.00 and can play further, it won't cash out then.
Very heavy machine but when it goes, it goes. Love it!

Multiplayer - Pays up to 2000x in a single spin which would be €400.00 but also again, the club meter goes on and on and I have had like 12000 credits on them with a friend and I have seen people on 40k credits..So I do not call that limited. :)

Also most amusement halls offer electronic roulette tables so there defo are places where you can play some roulette outside of the Dutch Holland Casinos. :)

Just saying. ^^

Yeah but I rarely play those mutliplayers (or "meer spelers"). So although it's still cool to play Club 2000 or Random Runner from time to time, I cant find the excitement to play on 20 cents and wait to fill the clubmeter to boost my bet, win all or go bust :)

So normally I'll sit behind the Merkurs or Novo's and there you can bet 20, or fill the clubmeter to be able to bet €1,80 or €2,00 ish? But in that event, every spin costs like 2 minutes :(

Therefore, I would say Holland Casino is more convenient if you want bet sizes available from min to higher values.

Ah yes, that is the issue with these Novos in de hallen :) Do the 0/20 up to €2.00 and then do one spin. That indeed you don't have in the casinos.
Oh the Good Old Club 2000.

4,8,16,32,64,128 naar boven
40,80,160 naar boven
Trying just to make the 200 points all the time. The good old days.

Lotus (See my nick here, used to plunder those) :D
Ventura
Nudge Up
Supatron
Clownaround
Top Deck

There were so many good 200 point JP slots.

Rembrandt and Dam squares are pretty much centers of fun :D

There's also A'DAM Lookout = 360 degrees swing (they say it's Europe's highest) with an amazing view. It's in Amsterdam North, so you'll need a ferry to there.
Boat ride through channels, coffee shops (I prefer White Widow hehe), and another cool thing is Icebar - you get a jacket, cap and gloves and go in the frozen little club where everything is sculpted in ice, even the glasses :)

You also have Heineken experience and Van Gogh's musem, if you prefer these things :D

Holland Casino is pretty crowded place, I didn't gamble that time when I visited it, but had a nice steak
